my that was shite......A number of players had a chance of trying for a shirt Sunday
For me Matete is the only one i would change and push Sheehan forward instead of Arfield.

Glad we’re out, league is the focus this season.

Much changed side, probably shaded the game but threw it away.
We were awful but i have just seen the stats....We have more possession, More corners, more shots both on and off target, more passes completed, more tackles won..........................you more Bookings

We were pretty poor overall tonight, missed a penalty and Birmingham scored a 30 yarder. They were the better side but didn’t look particularly great. Both sides look like they're still gelling as a team, Hansson for Birmingham did look really good though

We’ve absolutely battered QPR tonight and lost 2-1.

We’ve hit the post twice and missed four one on ones. We played some excellent football second half and any decent striker would be getting a hatful the way we played tonight. Promising.

You know you're a big club when you start binning off the Carabao.

We've finally made it after 141 years.

9 senior debuts dished out all in all.

The positives are that we scored 4, played well overall - against a Newport side who did rest players, but we still did what we should've done and took the chances we made.

Despite that, the talk of the town is how poorly our new keeper Zach Hemming has started, he was again at fault for the goal we let in and lets say its left alot of our fanbase in a meltdown already.

Probably not a 4-0 down in 25 mins type of bad though.
Last season's Champ top scorer vs a 16-year-old rushed in to cover injuries, it's the stuff of dreams

Still, at least we only picked up one new injury. That's a win in my book.

Leaning curve!

Like you we’ve started with injuries and i honestly don’t see the league cup lasting too much longer, there’s no money in it at all and the crowds show few are bothered.

If a side is established up here go for it, but there’s only priority for me this season

Having slagged him off a bit on Sunday then full credit to Monk, we were outstanding last night especially in the second half and could have had 4 or 5. We have to transfer that into Saturday and given how Crawley seem to play hopefully that will give us a chance as I suspect we'll be less effective against teams that sit back.

Stats don’t always show the full story, personally think we edged a half each, not much in it at all.

Was you at the game? No idea if our goal was correctly ruled offside or not.

Lots of excuses coming in from the Stockport lads.

Took the piss with an irresponsible team selection and caught a pasting in front of the loyal home faithful. You hope those young lads recover from this, Challinor will have blood on his hands if they don't.

I don't think any of our squad players pushed themselves forward for the weekend game, it was absolutely dross last night, a proper stinking performance overall even if we did dominate the first half and should have had a goal or two.

We were all over them second half, should have forced extra time at least. If we just had a number 9 to finish the chances off we’d have won comfortably. Anyway it’s one game, hopefully we can carry on at this level against Crawley.

Let us know when the football season starts guys.

But nice to see the referee take action with time wasting. Hartridge, already on yellow... took an age over a free-kick, benefit of the doubt, then took an age sorting out his hair at a throw in...and got given a 2nd yellow. F knows why he thought the need to...we'll score our 1st goal in october sometime probably.
Wouldn’t worry. You’re bound to beat us at your place on Saturday.

No did not attend but watched it all.........Sometimes i can go along with what you are saying but i think bar the first 20mins we basically controlled the game without doing much. Some of our players had not played at all during pre -season and others only signed last Friday and it showed......Boateng should of walked. Never seen him have a good game here.
The lad who scored for you who we was linked with last season and i think Barnsley are after him was decent, thought your keeper Pym was decent as well
Metate and Adeboyejo likewise for us......The rest i think poor

Some people struggle to see a game of football objectively with a team they support no shame in that mate.

We changed the entire team and many of those barely had pre-season, but I did not see any real control of the game.

Boatang, I think the yellow was just about right but if he got sent off no complaints either if I’m being honest.

Only real quality in the game was both goals, which were very good!

I did, i stated the game was Shite, Turgid, dross...Take your pick It could have gone either way same as Saturday
We have two wins to our name, could easily have been two defeats.
I think if you play that game in a month time irrespective of the result the quality will be far superior

Beat Charlton 1-0 at the valley, we almost changed the full XI from Saturday so was a good run out for some of the fringe players.

Controlled the game without having to change gears, good minutes for Klarer who looks a good signing for this level. Charlton looked a tidy outfit and played some nice football, i think they will have a good season.

Pleased to get one over that welsh whinger Jones. Made my night to see him give us zero credit in his post match interview the absolute gremlin

We seemed to give up after your goal which was a real shame as we started quite well. I'm not entirely sure who are the fringe players and who are the expected starters but your defence struggled quite a bit with our press until we dropped the intensity of it after the goal. You can tell there's some quality players in that side but I felt you lacked any real style of play, I guess that will come as the manager has more time to implement his style. Thankfully, May didn't score.

Juke, Tyler Roberts, Klarer, Hansson, Khela Allsop and Harris all didn't start satirday so they defo needed minutes, the style of play thing is trying to press high, we have a lot of the ball and the main gripe is what we are actually trying to do with it, possession for possessions sake, its a little frustrating but that will improve in time.

Glad May didn't get too bad of a reception tbh. & I do think you guys will push for play offs.

Millwall away for us, decent test and game for us. Not played them since 2010, so a good chance for all our youngsters/idiots who think they're big shots to take the safe route at South Bermondsey station when they get there :)

Swansea away.

If you wanted to pick one of the least appetising types of draw imaginable, “Unglamorous Championship club who you’ve played a few times before” has to be up there.

It’s hardly going to fill any of our fans (or even players) with cup fever, and will probably just be a routine win for the Swans.

Brighton away - couldn’t have asked for a better draw. Our training ground is less than a mile from the Amex and something we finally get to tick off against our Sussex neighbours/rivals

Millwall away tomorrow, Wellens has said we will make changes probably 5 or 6.

We'll do well to take it to pens even if Milwall also make a load of changes.

Beat a very poor Millwall side 1-0, who frankly didn't seemed arsed apart from the final 15mins when they bombarded our goal with long balls and didn't even get a shot on target. Dan Agyei scored and played well.

Made 5 changes and our squad played well.

Just hoping we can get some points now sooner rather than later and a decent draw would be nice for once, last time we got this far covid robbed us of a home game with Spurs.

Lost 0-2 to Fulham at home. Thought we played well to be fair over the 90, iffy penalty from that munchkin Keith Stroud who hates us btw lol

Stansfield just had to score and he did, Fulham had that killer instinct and punished our mistakes which is to be expected. We had more of the ball hit the bar one of the line but ultimately wasn't enough. Glad we played well though and our style of play is so much easier on the eye than the dross we have had to endure this last decade. Concentrate on the league now which isn't a bad thing.
