Six changes from Charlton Saturday. None of the six did anything to harm there chances all did well.
That said Shrewsbury are awful. They have signed two on loan from Chelsea and Arsenal who looked good but the other nine looked lost. We looked more balanced with Matete, Thomason and Dempsey and i would go with that on Saturday meaning dropping Sheehan and only two from Charles, Collins, McAtee and Victor starting.

We've upset Brighton fans. They're all over social media saying we are a bunch of thugs who shouldn't be allowed to play against their saintly players. Stems from a late challenge on their new £30million player. It was late, it was a foul and Williams should have been booked for it (he wasnt). Then in the 90th minute our sub, Roles, made a ridiculous challenge and was rightly given a straight red. The way their fans are speaking our players are cavemen with large wooden clubs attacking every carrier bag in sight. Anyone would think we stepped on their Jimmy Choos.

Lost 4-0 but that was harsh. Two goals in the last five minutes. The game showed our problem in stark reality. Neat passing, get to the last 3rd and no one wants to make a run into the box. If we get a forward we will be dangerous.

If we had even a half decent strike force, i genuinely think we'd be top half this season based on the last 180 minutes of football.

To be fair your players handed out some rough challenges against us last week. Just saying…

Oh, don't get me wrong. Williams is a bit of a thug and will be up there with the most booked players again this year. Meanwhile, I think that's the first time I've seen Jack Roles try to tackle and now I know why.

There is a difference from being slightly late and going in studs flying. Roles crossed the line, Williams didn't. The thing that amuses me is how they are saying we are thugs and then alluding to how they never made a foul all night. Poor precious things.

Roles had a rash frustrated tackle in him when we had him on loan. Good player mind, surprised he didn’t make it at a higher level, but still has time. All said and done it is funny when the premiership ‘giants’ whinge at a rough tackle or two, whilst their players throw themselves to the ground without the slightest touch and cry like babies.

1.0 up at h/t away to Swansea, not bad. They made 8 changes from their last game - but that’s their choice and we can only play who turns up.

Not too arsed if we blow the lead in the second half, but should we hang on then a semi-decent draw would be fun, in a season where we’re unlikely to go anywhere in the league.

We’ll get Walsall. (If we even get through at all)

Oh well - into the next round, and Villa at home. Not that exciting to me but a big club, if nothing else they should sell out the away end so a smidge of cash before we get knocked out.

Brentford away, mixed feelings another new ground for us to play at (already been there myself) and another derby game meaning no need for time off work, but of course you want one of the big boys to make some money before being dumped out.

The Format is to keep the league/Carabao alive and is wrong on all Levels.
In all honesty Mansfield should have done us in the first Round now we have Arsenal Reserves. This cup was needed to get game time to a number of players just signed on or returning from injury. We should go to Arsenal and play our B team under 18s and stick two fingers up to both the Premier league and Champions league clubs and write the tie off.
Wont be long now until the FA Cup goes the same way. This cup became meaningless and died yesterday evening

I didn’t have an issue with the ties drawn out per se as they might have happened anyway but do think it should have been a free for all not advantages given to teams in Europe .

They get enough as it is and play reserves anyway .

Wellens has said for our game tomorrow we will have to make changes, so will be interesting to see what he does.

Sold out 2300 away end as its our first visit there and only £10 for a ticket, will be a miracle if we score let alone take it to penalties.

Just realised that the cup is on this week, I'd assume it wouldn't be with European games. Farcical that the big boys won't enter this week

Spurs, Man U and Chelsea are playing I think but not the Champions league sides.

We actually play MC two days after they face Arsenal so might just be their C team .

So probably only lose 3-0..

Made ten changes in total, took the lead, played fairly well and caused Brentford problems - But as you'd expect from a Prem team, they can play average against a League One side and still win due to their power and potency in the final third.

Fabio Carvalho and Kevin Schade caused us problems all game, Schade got Jack Simpson sent off for two yellows with his pace and Carvalho scored a bicycle kick and put in a delightful ball for their second. Third on half time killed us.

Charlie Kelman had a golden chance to make it 3-2 but their keeper saved the 1v1, we was on top in the second half and then had to play the last 20mins with ten men and the game was finished.

We have a load of fixtures coming up, so no suprise Wellens made so many changes. Just a shame we're so weak up front depth wise.

A few issues in the away end with their stewards, they kept trying to make people sit in the allocated areas and it turned ugly just after half time.

“we are going to get dumped out by Villa in a week. Woohoo.”

And lo and behold...(although that was hardly the riskiest prophecy one could make).

We were actually OK though, at least gave them a game, and it took a lucky deflection to set up Buendia to set them ahead.

All I ask in these scenarios is that we put in a performance and give it some welly, and we did that - so fine. Next.

7 changes to our team that played at home v Reading.........Sat away to Crawley is all that matters
Treat this cup with the contempt that it showed us with giving Arsenal the home leg

Bolton could have had a penalty it looks like but guess wasn’t going to make much difference.

Did well early could have had a pen and Arfield and Mcatee could have scored but in reality they were a yard quicker on the pitch and two yard quicker in thought.
We give some awful goals away but i guess a forward line of Sterling ,Jesus and Saka force those errors
West Ham went down the same score at Liverpool so no disgrace

Half of Arsenal's team were youngsters, They had a 17 year old striker and 16 year old goalkeeper and they did not play well. The goals came from mistakes and Bolton playing about from the back. It was a gutless display and illustrate how tactically inept Evatt is. All Bolton's summer signings looked awful but it's the general lack of purpose the team have what concerns me, Any average team would have beaten Bolton on that performance we are every inch a 18th positioned League 1 team. Don;t draw comfort that it was Arsenal,)or their B team) most clubs would have beaten us on that showing.

Don't be too hard on yourselves, Arsenal under 21s beat us 5-0 last season!

If you're knocking on the door of the first team at the top end of the prem, you have to have something about you. I wouldn't worry about the scoreline as it was a mere free hit and 1 for fans to go down and just enjoy the football. They are just miles and miles better than most league teams. And when you can whack on Martinelli, Havertz, Gabriel off the bench is just taking the piss.
