The win yesterday means we'd probably take a point here and keep Carlisle at arms length - I imagine they're still believe they can get in the PO's.

The turnaround isn't too bad so I don't think we'll be making many, if any, changes.

I imagine (hope) we'll start with Nadesan and Hope again after bringing them on from the bench yesterday, although we may go more direct as I expect that's what Lincoln will be doing and we have been more route one of late.

Quite looking forward to this game, think I’ll be able to make it now. 3 points and a few of those teams above us would be looking over their shoulders, it’ll be a tight game though.

Got a bit of a hammering in the return fixture so this is an opportunity to put that one behind us, expecting a lot of ‘direct’ football from both sides.

Many Lincoln making the trip up? Would’ve thought around a thousand.

2-2 Bennett, Ellis, Frecklington, Palmer

I'm heading up. Doubt we'll take 1,000. it has been a really expensive few months watching the Imps with Wembley next week.

I witnessed a great game at Brunton Park in 2004 with Gain scoring a quality team goal and Mark Bailey scoring in the 90th minute from his own half.

Not too many I don't think, 500 or so maybe. I imagine this is one most will sacrifice with Wembley next weekend.

We're travelling up today and training at Blackburn on the way.

Nope. We haven’t been anywhere near the top 7 all season so I don’t believe we will within the next 6 games.

We have no where near enough quality in the final third to trouble teams in the top third of the league, as proved by our inept results against those teams over the course of the season.

We were woeful against Cheltenham, we were lucky they didn’t have the quality to punish us. Play like that and we’ll get hammered by lincoln tomorrow

Lucky against Cheltenham? Err we got a deserved away win thanks to good game management which is what was required on the day because it is not an easy place to go to, not every game can be a nice pretty easy comfortable win.

It does not suprise me though HG that you don't understand this because you are basically an unintelligent football fan.

Carver has a point, about the game rather than HG's intelligence. Football's not always about playing your opponents off the park and laying siege to their goal. For all Cheltenham's supposed territorial dominance they barely gave our goalie anything to do whereas theirs made a few fine saves in the second half. I know we didn't exactly put in a thrilling performance, and only scored from a penalty but I think for the most part, the way we played was Curle's plan for how we could get three points on the day.

Some of the Lincoln fans really do live on another planet don't they? I had a look at their forum, apparently they're hoping to break our highest attendance of the season. Because we had 6000 on the opening day against Swindon. Not sure they realise that home attendance makes a lot more of a difference than away attendance, or maybe they think that all the fans they see in the grounds they visit are all just Lincoln fans.

Certain fans on some fan forum talk shit, shock horror.

I would imagine taking a cross section of ANY forum you would get some numpties posting crap. If you then add a few thousand more people who follow the club, some of them will frequent said boards, and you increase that possibility.

Each set of fans has their own peculiar brand of crap though, Lincoln's brand is clearly about the most amusing there is out there.

Seen one or two on the Carlisle forum saying it could be their biggest crowd. Also, someone saying Imps are disappointed with their league position. I doubt that is the case for the majority, certainly not the longer term fans accustomed to mediocrity.
Idiots can appear anywhere any time, you seem to be oblivious to that. Perhaps that just how Carlisle fans are?

We've got an offer on for season ticket holders to bring a mate for a tenner. I doubt it'll bring many more fans through the gate though as most of the people taking advantage of that will probably be people who would have gone anyway.

Not saying the Lincoln fans are idiots, far from it, but success can do strange things to people.

There's a guy on Carlisle's forum, munchy or something, who clearly doesn't like us for some reason.

Also read that bizarre comment about not being happy with our league position. No idea where that's come from.

Some weird people on our forum, that munchymagic mentioned above must be a relative of Keith Curle or the man himself, won’t have anything bad said about him.

I knew you would get it Shoddy mate. :gr:

HG on the other hand has his brains in his arse, imagine if he was the manager of a football team? He would get out thought by even Graham Kavanagh and that's saying something.

I don't blame him especially about the comment regarding your air raid siren when you get corners, I mean come on how embarrassing is that? :lac:

The main reason I don't like you lot is because you done us 4-1 earlier on down at your place after we were putting a decent run together and I hate it even more whenever we get beat off and mocked by some jumped up little non-league shits who have just come up.

I’ve forgotten more about football than you’ll ever know.

If you’d bothered your fat Japanese flag of an arse to watch the full Cheltenham match back, you’d see that if it wasn’t for poor finishing, wasteful final balls and a slice of luck we would have been 3 down by the time we got our penalty.

Hopefully Curle picks the right team from the start today but without the tactical fuckwittery of the Crawley home game

Hope and Nadesan starting. That’s a better starting 11.

Whether it will be enough to beat Lincoln, I very much doubt it, but it gives us a chance.

We’ve actually played alright in a pretty even first half but it’s the same old story of our season. We get away with our frailties and scrape wins against teams in the bottom half, but as soon as we face a team above us with an ounce of organisation and with half competent forwards who don’t waste easy chances, we fall woefully short as we simply don’t have enough quality going forward to compete.

It’s why I’ve never got into this “top 7” talk simply because there’s a reason why we haven’t came close to troubling those positions all season and nothing will change during the last few games. It’s not me being negative it’s me looking at us over 40 games and realistically judging the likelihood of things changing in 6 games.

We’re playing decent though, just lacking any quality in the final third and created have created nothing against a competent team which as I say sums our season up.

If I were a Lincoln fan I'd be ashamed of the disgraceful way my team have conducted themselves today, clearly sent out there with only cheating on their mind today, not worthy of their football league place.

it's been awful, the deliberate handball that we were initially given a penalty for before the ref decided to give a Lincoln free kick was the worst, but the constant diving and haranguing the ref was bad too. If Cowley makes the step up then he'll quickly be found out because he has nothing about him
