There are some godawful albums on that list, Dave. Of those, I would say these are the ones that people need to listen to...

Enema of the State - SEMINAL
Through Being Cool - Arguably the best pop punk album of all time ever
Bleed American - again, SEMINAL
40 Hour Train Back to Penn - Fucking unreal album
Mutiny - Solid with a smattering of anthems

These are the ones that are okay...

Suburbia I've...
Last Stop Suburbia
Say It Like You Mean It
...is a Real Boy
24 Hour Revenge Theory
Punk in Drublic
Americana
...and Out Come the Wolves
Sticks and Stones
Take This To Your Grave
Jersey's Best Dancers
Milo Goes to College
Your Favorite Weapon
Dude Ranch
Dookie

Some of them are distinctly average.

However, these have no place whatsoever on such a list...

The All American Rejects
So Wrong, It's Right
The Art of Losing
Drunk Enough to Dance
Ocean Avenue...fucking really? BOWLING FOR SOUP AND YELLOWCARD NARROWLY BEHIND THE MOVIELIFE? FUCK THAT.
Crimson...CRIMSON. JESUS. How?! Alkaline Trio have made two of the best pop punk albums ever and Crimson is on this list?
All We Know is Falling
The Young and the Hopeless...SERIOUSLY?
All Killer, No Filler - SHIT

Okay, I take that back about Say It Like You Mean It. Put it in the top bracket. This album is way better than I remember it. I bought it when I was like 18 purely because it was on Drive Thru, but didn't used to love it. Re-listening to it now and it's fucking ace...

I'm sure the guitarist in the right is new.. Used to be a right goth looking guy. Bayside are awesome live though.

Just wanted to say how much I love Real Friends. I know they're a 'buzz' band but they're fucking awesome. Lyrically so many of their songs hit home.

'I'll spend the winter blending into the streets and sidewalks'

Really grown on me. I liked it initially but I haven't stopped listening to it.

The only problem is that it is a chorus too short. 1 more big chorus at the end would finish it off. That said, they seem to like ending songs early and in weird places. 'No Good' ends very abruptly and I've always thought the same, it is a chorus too short. The acoustic version of it is how the normal version should be.

On the look out for new Wonder Years. Their album has been completed and is probably in the process of being mixed/mastered.

Really loving this new Wonder Years song.

Sounds very much like the 'Suburbia' album in regards to production sound. Love that they've always liked the vocals to sound so raw.

Just discovered Set it Off and not pop punk but PVRIS, both are great. Saw them casually at Slam Dunk and thought they were alright, but never followed up on listening to them until now, they are great.

The Haunting live even though I didn't know the song or band was one of the things that stuck with me about the experience.

Been listening to The Greatest Generation quite a bit over the last few days and my opinion of it has changed massively. Didn't like it that much apart from a few songs but as a whole it is solid. The Wonder Years have this funny way of making me feel so much better. Lyrically they are incredible.

Cannot wait for their new album.

Neck Deep's new song is pretty good. Very catchy and you can really tell that Jeremy from A Day To Remember (who is the producer of the album) has had some input.

I keep hearing a lot about The Wonder Years but they haven't grabbed me with any of the couple of songs I've heard. I saw Neck Deep at Slam Dunk and can't remember then, kind of like Set It Off - which I now love, so I am definitely going to give them a try.

Band local to me you might like - as good as any pop punk I've heard lately. Their EP is free on Bandcamp too.
Hope you like it?

Knuckle Puck's new album is available to stream on their YouTube page.

Some good songs but a few too many fillers. I hear a lot of old Taking Back Sunday influences on it which is pretty awesome.

Disdain, Ponder and Crosshairs were my favourites on first listen.

On 2nd listen I take back the filler comment.

Untitled is a brilliant song but I feel the ending was dragged out. If it built up into a huge crescendo with loads of vocal harmonies over it (which KP are really good at it) then it would be a fantastic album closer.

Hearing so many influences on this. Ponder has a Blink182 self titled album feel about it. Just wish it was longer! Seems to be an overriding issue with these guys. Songs end too soon or drag out too long.

Need to check this out pronto.

Also Dave, was it you I had a brief conversation about Front Porch Step a while ago? Did you, or anyone else, see all that stuff about him being a massive sext pest?

Yeah I've seen all that stuff about him. There's also something about a member of another band (No GoodNews, never heard of them to be honest) sexually assaulting somebody that was the covered up by The Wonder Years' tour manager. Loads of people on AbsolutePunk are boycotting The Wonder Years until they make a statement around the issue as they continued to employ the guy after all this came out (he was later sacked by the label). Bit odd to be honest especially given all the good causes The Wonder Years support.

Also, Cigarettes & Saints is the latest new Wonder Years track to be released. INCREDIBLE.

I've got it, literally just pressing play on the first track now. Got high hopes for it :)

You went out to get the new Neck Deep album? Was it cheaper at Our Price or Andy's Record's?

Always do, fuck digital downloads. The best thing about getting a new album is actually holding it in front of you, and this album especially has a sexy front cover.

New Neck Deep album is very average. The issue I have with it and then as a band is that so many of their songs have the same vocal melody in and it makes all of their songs sound the same. All feels like a load of filler with the odd good song.

That said Can't Kick Up The Roots is a perfect summer pop punk tune and takes me back to the mid 2000's. I also really like Serpents which is the direction I would like to see them explore a bit more. December is also a good acoustic song.

That 2nd song has a very early Fireworks feel about it. Not massive on them but I'm liking this direction.

They can do no wrong in my eyes. Since hearing 'The Finer Things' I'm hooked <3

Them State Champs tunes are the ones that have been kicking around for a while now, aren't they?

Liking the new Wonder Years tune. Been a while since I've said that and I still think that they've been getting worse since The Upsides, but this song has got me interested in their new album. Other two tunes from it didn't really.

Wasn't bowled over by the new Knuckle Puck, either. What the hell is it with bands these days? Nobody in pop punk seems to be capable of stringing a decent run of releases together. Such Gold, Knuckle Puck, The Story So Far, Neck Deep, Real Friends...all did some absolutely banging stuff early on then went on to release underwhelming albums.

It's not all bad though, because I remembered this album a few weeks ago...
...been rinsing it since. 3:11 for 3 minutes of near perfection.
