Matuidi's absence was even more severe than those of Dybala and Cuadrado, since we were completely overwhelmed in the midfield. Buffon not impeccable on both Tottenham's goals. Furthermore I've the impression that Allegri underestimated our opponents, he wanted to get maximum effect from minimum effort like we usually do in Serie A games. I wouldn't rule out Juventus progressing, but they are very much second favourites now. It will take a fantastic defensive performance from them (of which they're capable) along with at least 2 goals, because I reckon Spurs will score at least once regardless of how well the Italians defend.

Buffon will need to improve. That second goal off the free kick in particular should never have gone in. The commentators were purring over Eriksen's kick, but no keeper worth his salt should have been caught out by it, never mind someone of Buffon's quality.

Onto tonight's games. I reckon we will come away with at least a draw against Porto, and as Benitez would say, a draw away in the CL is a good result, especially if you're playing at home second.

But I'm going for a Liverpool win to take us back to Anfield as big favourites, we have the attacking quality to do it but need the defence and keeper (gulp) to step up on the big stage. A big ask but the longer VvD has, the more stability he will bring to the back line.

1-1 in the Real/PSG game at half-time. Strong start to the game which was followed by a lacklustre period. We grew into the game in midfield which annoyed Zidane's diamond 442. We scored via Rabiot whose shot from short-range (around the penalty spot I'd say) was anticipated way too early by Navas. Never got why keepers do that. It's a shot from open play not a penalty. Anyway, had Navas stayed on his feet he would have caught Rabiot's shot no problem.
Cavani almost made it 2 and then we stupidly conceded a penalty via Lo Celso who inexplicably grabs Kroos' throat. CR7 dispatches the spotkick clinically.

Let's not implode in the second half and we should be ok. We can win this on the night. RM not in a great mood.

Once again we fail to score when it matters. At 1-1, RM weren't doing anything in particular and we should have scored. Zidane made two subs and RM scored two goals which were lucky as fuck but the point being we just didn't do our job when it mattered!

Just got in, been out up north today and was driving back when the match was on, and also couldn't get a damn reception on the radio commentary so only just found out the score. Wow!!!
