Yes, gave Roma a penalty this evening. To be fair, the referee must even have been blind or had a bet on to not give the penalty himself but fair play to the official behind the goal for actually giving it.

Hopefully Bayern have watched this matchday and be warned about tomorrow. Didn't see that coming in Rome, although Roma was so far great at home in this CL season (they beat chelsea 3-0 too if I remember right) and after ManCity's 1-0 in the 2nd minute I feared this would go wrong for the Reds, but thankfully it didn't.

If Bayern goes through tomorrow (and Real) we would have 4 teams of 4 countries in the semis for the first time since.....can't remember. Great to see the "usual contingent" of 2 or 3 La Liga teams diminished here for the semis (if not Sevilla makes another "wonder" )

Have a word with yourself. They played well for 35 minutes of a two game tie. They deservedly got knocked out.

They said Liverpool would be the first to go out the Champions League. After all, Tottenham have Lloris and Kane, Utd have Mourinho who knows how to grind out a nil-nil in big games, Chelsea are the English champions, and City are the best team in Europe who are on for the quadruple. How could Liverpool progress when there are teams like that they said, with Karius in goal, Robertson from relegated Hull as left-back, Jordan fucking Henderson, a static Emre Can and James Milner all in midfield; and selling their best player - they'd be lucky to get through the group with that lot and that woeful defense.

Well look at us now, in the semi's of Europe's elite competition once more. It's been a while, but we are back, back where we belong.
