Chelsea won one recently.

And aren't in it next season. They have zero right to take the piss out of anything CL and be taken seriously, especially towards a team that has just made the final and is in it again.

Ok not the cl but they have won 2 of the last 4 leagues. Big trophies, they can take the piss. They yoyo but win when on the up. Even the FA cup on the downside.

Just wasn't Liverpool's night.

Lose their best player to an early injury - then see the goalkeeper make two big mistake with a want away sub scoring a wonder goal in the middle!

Great run from them but Madrid really do seem to have the handle on this competition - keeping Zidane in a job.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Good to see more records being set.

Most catastrophic fuck ups by a goalkeeper in a Champions League final.

Karius and Ramos are lucky. Tonight won't be remembered for goalkeeping blunders or hatchet jobs, but for Gareth Bale carrying Real Madrid on his shoulders to a record breaking Champion's League win.

Well done Gareth.
Well done Wales.

If I'm in that dressing room I'm digging out Karius.

Shambolic, he's cost his team mates what is probably their chance of history there. They might only make the final once in their careers. To perform that badly... Sorry but his career is over

Feel a bit sorry for Liverpool tonight but yeah, this ^.

Besides, as much as I feel for the guy, when your 'keeper makes howlers like those surely any piss-taking is FAIR GAME really, irrespective of who you might support

Just been speaking with my Liverpudlian brethren and he said if Salah had stayed on the pitch, you would have battered them by at least 3 goals. Thoughts on this chaps?

He's talking bollocks. They'd have still been favourites because they're, well, Real Madrid and this is what they do. But it's stating the fucking downright obvious to say we would have had far more of a chance.

Combine Salah staying on and Liverpool having a decent keeper. It wouldn't have been 3-1. The depressing thing is that Real really weren't that good tonight and were there for the taking. But a moment of brilliance by the poncey-haired Welshman and two fuck ups by our shit keeper and it's all over. Depressing.

Congratulations Real Madrid, you are some side.

As for Liverpool, I'm proud of the lads this year. Only the second season back in the CL, and the first under Klopp, to not only pre-qualify, to then finish top of the group, smack Porto, City and Roma off, and then make it to the final; well thats been an amazing run.

Tonight they showed plenty of heart, but not enough quality, especially when Salah got injured - and of course you can't justify the keeper being not good enough - however, they have fully deserved to get to this stage, and hopefully we can have a good run at it again next year as we'll be more experienced, have more depth, and go again!

It's been a hell of a ride!

Yes, no shame at all. You've exceeded expectations by a long way in Europe this season.

I'm enjoying it, of course, but it's not like you've embarrassed yourselves - Karius aside.

Bit shit to see Karius walking alone - win as a team lose as a team.

^ felt as though someone ought to have gone over to him :( General football bantz aside, I feel a bit horrendous for him and Salah tonight. The former because it's got to be really, really tough to deal with, the latter because, as well as missing out tonight, he's also likely to miss out on the WC.

Odd match really. A bit "events, dear boy, events" in that it was pretty much defined by the Salah injury, goalkeeping errors and a Bale wonder goal. There weren't, for a four goal contest, actually very many clear-cut chances that I can recall.

Absolutely. For a Champions League final it was for the most part disappointingly short of quality.

Just seen Karius took an elbow to the head minutes before the first mistake. His senses must have been scrambled.

Now that it’s beginning to sink in it’s really beginning to hurt. Yesterday was mostly anger and frustration, which is much preferable.

Stockport County.
Bale world class goal. Showed his brilliance and will shut a few up who are desperate to see him fail.

Ramos was also outstanding at the back for Madrid, a real leader. Salah bottled out of it to be honest. He'll be back for the World Cup.

Good run to the final from Liverpool, they've created some good moments under Jurgen Klopp. They need to make the next step to win something next season. Not every side makes that final step but I'm sure Klopp will try/

I wondered why Karius was remostrating to the referee in the manner he was - his actions with his arm wasn't making sense to the goal he conceded. Now it does.

As for the Salah one Ramos definitely meant to fuck him up. Called it straight away. Maybe it's because I'm a dirty bastard too but that was military grade fouling. Poor little Mo getting wrenched like that by someone who probably lifts 200kg - the little guy didn't stand a chance. Unfortunate for Liverpool they've got a shithouse for a captain - imagine Carra in the same circumstance.
