I don't think Wolves can really be criticised for their numbers, they've got rid of all their best players and replaced them with shit. There's a lot more going on at that club behind the scenes, added to the fact they've had nothing to play for since January and are on Sky every other week as Mark said.

They usually travel in great numbers, it doesn't come as a great surprise that they haven't in the latter stages of this season.

Not ignoring our shit numbers this season, but we have a damn good excuse for it.

We are the most televised football club in England on SKY this season, it has had a massive effect on games where we usually take a fair few, where infact we have taken next to nothing. That, along with being completely shit, and most of our good away games being on a Tuesday night has meant our away totals have been pretty embarrassing for most of the season, especially if you compare them to our figures from last season.

Glad I've got my excuse lined up
Can we steal this excuse like we apparently stole a club :hypo:
In all seriousness it's no surprise and only going to look worse tbh, I can't see any more than around 300 making the trip to Ipswich even if it's the last away in the Championship until we somehow stumble up here again, £32 tickets don't help when added to the fact it's us.

Leeds bought their way to the Champions League and got fucked in the ass for it, they haven't recovered since, even dropping into L1 briefly.

Thought we were on about South Yorkshire anyway?

Champions league appearances 2001 / price

11 Most played players (18 matches)
Harte 17 (£0)
Smith 16 (£0)
Viduka 16 (£7.5m)
Mills 15+1 (£4m)
Bowyer 15 £(2m)
Matteo 15 (£4.75m)
Dacourt 14+1 (£7.2m)
Martyn 12 (£2m)
Kelly 11+1 (£50.000)
Bakke 10+2 (£2m)
Radabe 10 (£100.000)
£29.5 Million (143+5 appearances)

Ferdinand, Keane, Huckerby, Bridges, Batty, Wilcox, Duberry, Woodgate, Kewell, Robinson Mcphail (42+9 appearances between them)

We got there with a severely weakened team.

Robinson £0 Woodgate £0 Smith £0 Harte £0 Radabe £50,000 Batty £4m Dacourt £ 4m,

Why not the 4k for Huddersfield?

No idea mate, always been a ground I've enjoyed visiting. There were 10 of us originally coming up in a taxi, as its St Georges Day and nobody would drive, we'd got a price on a minibus for the day complete with driver!!, but as we got nearer the date it was apparent people had made other plans for a Saturday St George piss up instead. I looked at the train but leaving it that late it was like £60, sod that.

Fact of the matter is if we were still in the play off hunt we'd of taken the full allocation no problem, the players have been on the beach for a couple of months now so I guess people have just thought sod it, stay in Brum and get smashed, just like St George would have wanted :D

Depends fella, it will be very close either way.

Boro - 53,004 + 5,000 (Brum)
SWFC 50,736 + 4,300 (Wolves), 3,100 (Derby)

We pip you by around a hunderd overall or 4 per game

Not sure what your point is, Ferdinand, Keane & Bridges cost about £30m+ between them as well, huge money for 2000/ 2001. The likes of Duberry, Wilcox and Batty cost £4m+ each as well.

You threw money at it, failed and then got severely hit by the consequences.

Can't have a pop at Blackburn throwing millions at it but ignore Leeds' overspending just because they're a bigger club.

It's so we can split the stand and have some of our fans in there which has become popular. If you see out that allocation anyone could easily get in the home end.

May I just say that Yorkshire teams are without doubt top notch, with no equals anywhere in the country.:box:

It's not as simple as that though Miller. Who's in, and not in Yorkshire these days seem to be a bit of a mystery. I mean the Tour de France went through there the other year. Can "we" claim some of PSG's titles?

Jesus sernwa what are you going on about. If your on about south Yorkshire it's absolutely diabolical for football 1 league cup in 80 years between all of us, brilliant. If your on about Yorkshire as a whole it's the biggest county in the country ffs always massively underachieved at the game all of us. Lancashire rules football in this country that's a fact always will be stop making yourself sound a fool oh and please don't be classing boro as being part of Yorkshire there not welcome.

Awww don't be like that Blademan. Mind you I've always had the good sense to live north of the river in God's country, County Durham so I'm not really arsed.:2thumb:

So you just proved me right, you said the team that we bought the champions league semi final place when that clearly shows we didn't, we bought players because we were struggling to put sides out because of our injuries as you would see by our teams against Barcelona 0-4 and Man utd 0-3 that season.

OK, you reached the Champions League semi final because you spent within your means which is why your finances have been so ace in recent years.

We spent 6m on Viduka 7.2m on Dacourt and 4.75m on Matteo that pre-season, Ferdinand was bought in November with the money from qualifying for the second stage in a group that included Barcelona and AC Milan. Our shit started when we bought Keane, Johnson and Fowler with extortionate wages, Keane made 2 appearances in the champions league the others none.
Not exactly Leeds Galactico's.

Blackburn were dishing out world record transfer fees.

Blackburn are a bunch of smeg heads and Jack Walker's money was the begininning of ludicrous transfer fees we see today. You won't find me defending them.

But Leeds still spent a lot (or it was at the time) and gave out stupid contracts, although i'm not 100% on the dates in terms of coinciding with their Champions League run so i'll take Smileyw's word for it.
