Cheers mate, would love to do an old firm match too, would prob make Sheffield Derby look tame.

It makes any derby look tame. If you join membership and buy tickets for a few other games there easy to get. But obviously going to the other games is the hassle. £49 a ticket at celtic park this year

my grandad is 80 and first started going to the villa just after the war and stopped going once it went all seater. Home and away with villa for years and has been everywhere, he's got his views on certain clubs and I think his views are very valid as like I said he's been everywhere and first started going football donkeys ago. He rates the Sheffield Derby as the best in England and I remember once we were watching it and I think it was at bramall lane, anyway the noise was like nothing I'd heard and he said you don't get noise like that for a Derby anywhere, not even villa v blues. He also says Sheffield Wednesday are the true big club from Yorkshire. sunderland are the best fans to ever come to villa and Newcastle is the most fanatical place he's ever been. Arsenal believe it or not we're the worst behaved fans to come villa, as the regularly played up and every season tried to take the holte. West Ham are Londons proper club. Just a few of his opinions which I thought I'd share.

On the other hand it will still take you a while as away tickets this year are a no go. There's a steady 7k at Killie tonight

I personally don't think Newcastle v Sunderland, villa v brum, us and them, Derby v forest , Bristol derby are any more passionate than the other. All opinions though

Some derbies are more passionate than others, it's clear to see but yeah it's hard to say if not impossible which is the most passionate. I always like to watch the Sheffield Derby as I think Sheffield is a proper football city. I like listening to him though and about his stories from home and away with villa.

We created the game of football. Sheffield fc and hallam who are both non league but the 2 clubs us and them have both been shit since the 20s / 30s. It's a joke

Wednesday had a very brief spell in the early 90s mind where they were good.

Villa have already sold out their allocation of 2000 for our home game against them next month!

Our allocation for Ipswich has sold out. 2.000 allocation at £37 a ticket. Why is it such a small allocation? As far back as I can remember that's all you get allocated and it's not often they let fans on the bottom tier. I've gave this one a miss.
Are you sure? The equivalent home tickets are £32.50 this season.

Half way line tickets in the upper tiers are £37 so if they've sold out, a large portion will have been at £37.

How come Norwich didn't have the lower this year or villa?

I believe it was the police advice, otherwise they wouldn't give a safety certificate. Possibly something to do with Evans taken them to court over overcharged policing!
Norwich were given the same allocation, just in the upper tier only as I assume Villa have too. I'd personally give Villa the whole top tier of the cobbold if I'm honest, not likely to sell otherwise

Used to love listening to my dad's stories about Wednesday and football in general. Told me we took over 20k to Chelsea for a FA cup QF in 67, any older owls or Chelsea remember this? Or was it lets say exaggerated? In his day Man U, Liverpool, Everton,Arsenal and Spurs were the big 5, shows how money distorts things bet no school kids would have them as the biggest 5 in England now. Never believed I would cry at a football match, but bawled my eyes out at millennium when we won the playoff final. Not in hapiness (ok partly maybe) but because he wasn't there with me to witness it. He would have loved Wembley last year too. Treasure your grandad while you can mate, get him to tell you more stuff, they can't when their gone.

Shocker from us today, 297 at Ipswich.

I know we've made a shocking start and it's a trek but that's way lower than I was expecting.

Villa fans were quality in the first half at AG, much louder than Newcastle who weren't bad at all. All went for the exit after the third mind!

Looked more than that to be honest. One of the very few teams to come to our pub in numbers, there was bloody loads of them, all good natured, my lad and his mates had a game of footy against a load of kids in Norwich tops. A handful made it back for a beer after the game, took the banter in good spirit
