Stickied Championship - Away Support Thread 2024/25

Can't remember the last time we sold out a home leg in the play-offs. Think it was against Wolves in 2003. We had the South Stand open against Burnley and Cardiff but had about 1,000 empty seats. I think a lot of the older generation can't be arsed with the play-offs, would rather the season ended in the 'top 3' type format.

The play-offs terrify me. This since finishing clear third one season and being beaten in Play Offs by - of all people - Sunderland
Great when we're not involved. Although the play off finals have been terrible for years. Poor quality

Yep. Thought it was hilarious they were all hero worshipping him last week so I politely told them he'd failed by not winning the league with the most expensive squad ever at this level. They didn't particularly like that.

You can always tell when rival fans sell out their quota. The attendance goes over 52,000
The much vaunted Aston Villa fans (by themselves mainly) only sold half the tickets we gave them -this after giving us less than usual away allocation in prior fixture
But Barnsley did their bit. It was over 52,000 sure enough

In fairness it was a meaningless match for villa at a ground they play at every year and on sky on a Monday night. Some of your followings when you were struggling in the prem were on a par with that.

Huddersfields is the stand out figure for me. Fantastic numbers both home (down to pricing too) and away. Show's what a difference a good team makes to most support.
Since you've being doing this have we 3 teams average over 3k before? Guessing not shows how good the Championship is these days.

No it's just not had 3 clubs as big as Newcastle, villa and Leeds at once before.

That and, not to start this fucking argument again but, two massive clubs came down to add to Leeds who also have huge away support. It could happen again next season with us and Leeds sticking around and Sunderland coming down, though I don't think they travel as well as their companions in the North East?
