Hardly a shock but 'having both ends' isn't that difficult in the circumstances. Never happen again mind, imagine the plod.
As I said , I think your fans had given up hope by then, as we easily outnumbered you. Would of no doubt been different if you was near the top too. Nah, them days have sadly gone.

Yep, from all reports I have read every other clubs fans got shall we say "removed" only ones to stay on were Man Utd & You lot. (Both due to incredible numbers).

Strangely as a kid my Dad used to take me on the Leppings Lane in the 70s can't remember any trouble apart from what I thought was a snowball fight that got abit out of hand against Arsenal in the Cup.
Maybe I just didn't notice it.
Villa tried it at Burnden in 75 and came off pretty badly, the filth did it the same season and they got in the lever end before we got in and in was to and fro all match but we couldn't shift em, they got what they deserved on manchester road and the train station but them and Chelsea are the only two club we couldn't shift from our end, sheffield united had a good go in 77 but not good enough. I was only a young kid then but obviously the 1970's left indellible memories for me

The good old 70s eh. I think all of the well supported clubs used to run riot back then. I've heard about a few clubs coming unstuck at Bolton. I used to know an old Albion head, and it was one of the worst places he went.

From December 14th 1974 (Oldham h 1-1) we scored 4 goals in 20 League games, three of them away and managed just 5 points, three draws and one win, what a season.

Looks like you're trying to surpass that this season.

One of my favourite away games is Leicester .We've always had this thing with them, and it always kicks off, whether it was filbert street, or the king power stadium. not that I'm involved in anything like that these days, but there is always an edge when we play them away.

No one could touch Man Utd in the 70s, by all accounts.

Remember Portsmouth coming down to Elm Park in the early 90s and taking the Southbank; you could tell a mile off who was Pompey as they dressed fucking appallingly but they were all ex-Navy so they were hard as nails.

Same game that Reading and Chelsea put it on Pompey at Reading West station - fair play to them, biggest mob I've ever seen. Now I have to live next door to the bastards!

I don’t think many mobs took the EastEnd in it’s prime, very few. A lot of lads came here unstuck! Birmingham and Sheff Utd had a good go but apart from that.

Think we did our fair share of taking home ends in the 70s and 80s, think we did at Chelsea? Ciderup might know.

Pompey get a lot of respect off everyone. They travel well too.

I used to, then I grew up. Don't mind nattering about it from time to time though, like most people on here. You're right though, it's probably time to end it for now. Next time you go off topic and it creates pages of it, I'll have your pants down.

It’s part of football history and I’m always interested in hearing about the stories.

Back on topic. We've sold 1100/3000 for Fulham so far. I don't know if I'm doing Fulham or Sheffield Wednesday two weeks after. Wanted to do both, but I've been put in my place by the boss :told:
