In Derby we have a very hardcore following, for the size of our city( smallest in England), we have very good home support, unlike Leeds, And I see more Manu tops in Leeds than I ever did in Derby, one serious. Question though , how can a Yorkshireman ever support Manu, that's something I can never get my head round. Being the red and white rose thing, going on between the two counties.

The Leeds (White rose) v Man Utd (Red rose) rivalry is certainly fierce

But on the whole (in my experience) the Yorkshire v Lancashire thing is perhaps misunderstood by 'outsiders'

Yeah, we take piss out of each other, but we are very similar people (like cousins, sort of) and would stand shoulder to shoulder against anyone else. Working together in the cotton industry means we share a lot of architectural influence, phrases, dialects, values etc etc etc. If you catch my drift?

I always seem to end up with lads from Yorkshire when I go abroad. There's always a bit of posturing like, but it's usually good natured and we tend to gravitate towards each other/have each others backs, so to speak. (Leeds lot in magaluf '08 being the exception)

I think the Cricket rivalry is a good example to look at. It's lively, competitive and brimming with the old bantz....but we don't wanna tear lumps off each other, like some folk think.
(Football is a different story, but we all know the type of Muppets that attend footy matches)

So yeah, they're odd, ugly, backwards fuck heads, but they're our trampy little cousins and we'll not have a bad word said about 'em.

£15 for brum fans in all areas against us so guess it will be that for our fans too, Wednesday night on sky. Was only £20 their last year too, still a few clubs who are decent with pricing , west Brom, Preston, reading, rotherham to name a few.

Thanks for the insight, you have explained that very well. But like the rest of you I still hate Leeds, but I do like the rest of Yorkshire, and also find lancashire people to be sound in the main.

Less than 100 tickets left for Blades away, should go end of today or tomorrow.

Really got to wonder why it's a 12.15 ko.

Yes it's a bit strange as i've not heard or seen any serious disorder in this fixture before, not like Wednesday, Donny or Chesterfield where the rivalry is a lot fierce.

SYP at their incompetent best, not helped by the Dingles being at home and us only being at Derby I suppose.

Yeah strange really, usually it's just one big sickly love in between you two.

Our game being early actually makes that have more of a chance of any issues.

We dont show any arrogance towards them, giving it all the big club bollox, only reason they dont like you.

We didn't, but they have a massive chip on their shoulder mainly due to the Rotherham Owls at a guess.

Fuck me this is the club that let us their stadium to host intertoto cup games and we had regular pre season friendlies against but when the clubs starting to meet in league fixtures the atmosphere changed.

I think that's always been a bit of a myth that tbh. I know a lot of our fans hate Wednesday more than anyone else probably due to Rotherham owls but I don't know many that like the Blades either. My feelings towards both are the same, I don't give a fuck either way if they win or lose but that's probably because I live and come from the other side of Rotherham where Donny and Barnsley are closer.

Birmingham have sold out 5600 at Preston next week, what's with the random superb following, same when they played Wigan.

They usually travel well for Saturday games. Cheap tickets and the fact they are doing quite well.

They dont normally travel that well though. It's an exceptional turnout for a team in 8th. Way way above the norm

They tend to have a once a season game where they have a big turnout regardless, same last year.
