They would sell out nearly everywhere if they went down. No idea on any averages but i watch enough prem matches to know they dont sell out everywhere not even that close infact.
Slightly surprising, but understandable with the shambles that they've been in the last 5 years or so, or at least since O'Neil went.

Having said that, I think if Leeds were in that position they'd be selling it out. Almost certainly really, they're doing it most weeks now and they've been down the bottom end of the Championship for a few years now.

Happy to be proved wrong, maybe shouldn't have commented given my lack of interest in the PL. Been alright this season with the bigger teams being utter gash, but in previous years I've found it to be an absolute stalemate.

'kin hell, didn't realise they'd gone off the boil in terms of away numbers. I know a few Leeds fans were worried about potentially being overtaken as the 'best away fans in the league' next season by Villa.

Think they'd probably sell out the majority of their games next season, with their being a lot of new grounds for them to adventure to and such.

Any idea on their away averages in recent years, and the number in comparison with other teams in that league? Don't really follow the PL enough to know all this.

I wouldn't even say they've gone off the boil, I don't remember them ever filling the away end at The Valley even in the PL.

I would probably chuck Spurs into Blademan's category though.

Definitely Spurs, they'd sellout up and down the country.

Possibles include Villa, Arsenal and Newcastle.

No spurs don't come close either i remember them playing burnley on tv last year the away end was half full and also they dont always have the full 3000 allocations at liverpool, everton and man utd either so no there not in the list

Arsenal are in the list, weve just discussed villas and its not even close neither is newcastles. Dont get me wrong spurs, villa and newcastle all have cracking away followings but not on the level of man utd, lpools, evertons and leeds

thing about Spurs is they wouldn't once down a few years they'd tire of the north side of the country, with the beautiful countryside and wheelie bins blown on the roads, they'd turn into another London club that travels well 8 miles to Fulham but 200 miles to leeds? nah

If Leeds had general sale they would sell out every away game bar none, Fulham the last 2 seasons has proved that.

Is that not a poor following from Derby? Yes, I know it's extortionate and I know it was a Sunday midday game on tv, but 1,600?

If you're going to boast about getting 30,000 every week (which was sung to Millers fans during their recent visit to Foam Finger Park) then be prepared to be shot at when you're taking 6% of that support 45 mins down the M1 (or an hour with the speed restrictions).

"Foam finger park". Lol. I think you're confusing us with Leicester.

£36. On tv. On a Sunday lunchtime.

If it was Saturday 3.00pm it would have been approaching 4K, as proven at Huddersfield a month or so ago.

Sheffield is always a popular away game, for a lot of clubs, but sometimes you have to take a step back, stop being so parochial, and look at the big picture and say the prices and number of tv games is getting silly. I mean Leeds are charging us £37 for a televised game on a Tuesday night at Christmas. There won't be more than 500 there for that I guarantee you.

Be interesting to see what we fetch to Hillsborough this season if the tickets are 36 pound, i don't think we would take many more than 1600 tbh.

Wouldn't brand anyone's following "poor" when tickets are £35+ at this level.

Never mind it being on a Sunday, at 1 and three weeks before Christmas.

I definitely wouldn't have gone if I had to pay. Looking at the 19k crowd it seems a fair few feel the same way.

Leeds looking at circa 1,900 for Wolves out of 2,300 allocation (but as you know, No general sale/No POTD)

Smiley: As for Sheff Wed' we will take considerably more than 1600 even if £36 but depends on what Jose's lot allocate.

(Pie tax is a scandal BTW)

Fair play to any Leeds fan who wants to come to Molienux on a freezing cold Thursday night to watch a 0-0 shutout.

Great following from Hull (if they charged the same prices vs us and Wednesday), shocking turnout from Preston.

Always surprised Wolves struggle to sell-out up here. It's not too far and they're a big club. Strange.

Top of the table(ish) Hull are great taking 2,500 less than an hour across the same county, and Wolves "struggle" with two-thirds of that, travelling twice as far (in time)? Eh?
Last season we would have sold out but your ticket office didn't release the second batch of tickets until 48 hours before and tend days after the first batch was sold out. (It was hotly debated on previous forum). The season before, in L1, we sold out our allocation. That was our first appearance at your new place.

As for the low numbers last weekend, we've had low numbers away (and home) all season: shit form suppresses numbers whether big or small club. Look at yours...you were filling your place when you were massive in League 1. Even so, almost 1 in every 5 punters in your ground left happy on Saturday. :bg:

Why dont you have general sale? Apologies if I have missed it earlier in the conversation.

I am losing faith in away days. QPR fans have moments of class, but most of them want to sit. And if you stand, some have a right go at you. I was send to back row at Reading, and the row behind me were bloody sitting. I have no idea how Leeds, Shef Wed etc all stand all game. Do you not sell kids tickets?

They sell away membership which is quite lucrative and would be ineffective with general sale.

Ha ha. I don't think I have ever sat away from home. Not once, except for a few minutes at a time when some steward has decided he wants to play powerful. I've rarely sat at home either. Or at Molineux. Sitting is for people with tartan rugs and flasks of tea: you, Cherries, Charlton and especially Fulham fans who would stay seated and applaud politely if they scored a fifth goal before half-time.

I can confirm said comment about Fulham is very true, they did exactly that at AG this year.

Same for me really, I haven't not stood home and away for as long as I can remember. For our away games it's a simple concept, standers at the back, people who want to sit down at the front. Same at home games to some extent, I specifically sit in the back row which enables me to stand without some petty moron complaining.

The only time I won't stand at football is if we're getting battered - I usually find myself sitting more often than not at Molineux and Elland Road specifically.

We have a standing corner by the loft, but thats the opposite end to the away fans.

I agree about the sitting, I hate it. The point of going away is to have some beers and to have a bit of banter with the home end. It is very hit and miss with QPR. Against Fulham, Southampton, Villa I was able to stand as most were. Against Reading and Tottenham, I wasnt able to stand as most were sitting.

I dont get to many away games so they are my most recent ones. I wish the club could say if you want standing or sitting, then distribute tickets that way. Of course, that cant happen due to being all seaters but it would be better - in my opinion anyway.

I always sit at home games, just want to watch the match and talk to my mates tbh. Don't remember the last time I sat at an away game though.

The membership only for Leeds away games is a throw back to when there was lots of trouble many years ago and its never been lifted since. If we had General Sale the numbers would be huge...they already are tbf.

(It started with a 'Red Card' bizarrely which I still have and a 'U' club Card)
