Said the Barnet fan, watch Hibs every week do you?
It's pretty easy to watch a lot of Scottish football as the BBC iplayer has all of the SPL and SFL highlights plus BBC Alba shows some live SFL action too.
It's perfectly possible to see what standard the Scottish Championship is, just look at the numbers of ex-National League and League 2 players in the SPL. From that it's pretty clear that Scottish Championship is National League level.
I'll admit that McGinn could potentially improve to be a Championship standard player but Cummings and Stokes no way. Besides Cummings needs to improve his hairstyle game.

Hope Monk doesn't regret his decision. Good appointment for any championship team, shows confidence he's prepared to risk working under a mad guy tho.

At least Monk will get good support from the fans. If we'd hired Kean it would have been a joke from the start. Similar to Rosler last year though. Promise of something fresh over the summer and then it all go to shit in October.

Needs support, mind. Needs to be able to keep the young players for starters...

So, Jaap Stam is our new manager. Bit miffed as Parkinson has left Bradford....

So, Jaap Stam is our new manager. Bit miffed as Parkinson has left Bradford....

Could be a good appointment that, he's got good experience with some good Dutch clubs mainly Ajax as an Assistant, could end up being another Aitor Karanka. On the flip side his lack of experience as a number 1 may see him end up like Sammy Hyppia, we will see. Reading's board don't seem to patient these days either way so he'll have to hit the ground running.

Had Yip Yap even managed a club before? Risky appointment imo.

We love hiring managers with a lack of experience, hoping he's more Pardew/McDermott than Rodgers/Clarke..

His only experience has been assistant manager of Jong Ajax (Dutch second division) for a few seasons. Sounds like we've basically taken the whole Jong Ajax coaching setup with him too.

I'll back him (when he's confirmed), but this is such a big risk.. Going to be an interesting Summer now with all our foreign signings.

Lets hope if it is Stam that he is given time to do the job and not sacked after a few months if things don't start well. The owners have not been very patient so far.

Stam is a strange appointment but there seems to be a lack of managers with proven quality at this level around at the mo. It might be a very good choice. Alternatively, it could be a total balls up.

Stam's name came up as soon as McDermott was sacked didn't it?

Thought it may well be delayed due to him playing in Soccer Aid, no idea if it had an affect or not though.

Possibly, our CEO only came back from Holiday yesterday I think our local reporter said, so that could have slowed things down.

Strange appointment, everyone said the same about Carlos last season though and he is fantastic.

Like I said in the French league thread, it's not a bad appointment. He needs a fresh start after basically failing at Rennes.
