5,200 at Stamford Bridge tonight.

Don't know how many were Oxford, but that's a disappointingly high attendance.

So due to tonight's result between Oldham and Blackburn kids, Carlisle are already through ahead of tomorrow nights match with Fleetwood.

With a long trip to Newport at the weekend, we really could do without this shit.

We won a penalty shoot out tonight and also had no chance of going through.

Same with Stoke U23 + Crouch, Bojan, Imbula and Muniesa... those young boys will have learnt a lot tonight!

The game tomorrow is even more pointless now, hopefully Curle uses a couple of youth players to give them some experience but he'll still take it very seriously I imagine.

Cannot fathom why Davis played Ryan Lowe (who is now injured) in a nonsensical game in the knowledge our other main striker was injured for the next couple of weeks. To be fair, qualifying from the group would have been Dull Davis' greatest achievement in over three years but still wtf.

Good luck to all still in the competition in disgracing this shambles further.

Here's hoping he uses the entire youth team.

What would happen if we got fined for fielding a weak team and we just point blank refused to pay it? Where would it stand legally? Is kicking us out of the competition the worst they can do?

I Went to our away game at Brighton tonight - The crowd was 529 - There was NO segregation so couldn't give an accurate figure on the number of away fans, but it looked to be around 50 - Judging from the familiar faces that I know.

The game was awful and we lost, nearly equalised late on though.

Thank god we are out.

Does anyone else have supporters getting into a hissy fit that they lost? I genuinely imagine half the clubs are happy they've been knocked out.

The main complaining from our fans is the local press saying we've ended our winless run, because we beat Charlton via a meaningless penalty shoot out.

It's a shame Blackburn have gone out they've a young lad called Wes Brown in their squad who looks like the future of English football and playing the like of us and Fleetwood really would have kicked his career up a notch.

I can't believe that Sheffield United have sold about 250 tickets for our game tonight. They'll probably have as many fans there as us with the game being totally pointless with neither of us able to progress.

The only thing is the appointment of Marcus Bignot may tempt quite a few of our supporters to go seeing that it's his first game in charge. Basically it's really a free game for him to get the measure of our squad before his tenure really starts on Saturday.

We created a new trivia question having brothers who in their first professional game (two years apart I think) both got sent off.

The away fans would mostly be exiled fans. At first I was surprised Scunthorpe brought 86 fans last night for a dead rubber, until I realised those 86 fans were probably Scunny fans living in/close to Cambridgeshire, who just want to grasp the opportunity to watch their side when they're playing nearby.

That's why I think some are being a bit unfair on the number of away fans who're watching games in this farce of a competition. The focus should be on the home crowds.

No, but we had fans who got into a hissy fit when they saw that a lot of U's fans were planning on not watching any of the home games in this competition. Their argument was that the three games were still 'first team competitive games'. And oh, 'the club is going to lose money if everyone stayed away', which as we all know is a load of bollocks as the clubs were compensated for by the FA.

Tonight's game at Sunderland will be interesting in terms of travelling fans. I would lol if it's less than 10! I'd imagine hardly any Sunderland fans there either being as tho they are disgruntled with their first team.

547 at Wolves against Accrington, don't know how many of them.

The squad was made up of entire youth players as well, if that's any consolation.

As the Gods have deigned that I was out when a parcel was delivered earlier today and therefore I have to pick it up 'any time after 7pm' from the Bargain Booze near the ground, I'm going to be in that area tonight anyway so I'll swing by out of curiousity as to how busy it is. Probably buy a programme, and read it over a pint in the Beehive. I'll report back on my impressions of the attendance.

666 at ours with 86 from Scunthorpe.

To the devil with the lot of them!

Crawley are playing Southampton tonight, Wednesday. Direct train link. Big Premier league club I reckon I may be embarrassed by the amount of Crawley fans who turn up.
