We've only opened the two stands again, but that touched over 1000 last time. Probably will as well this time unfortunately.

Someone has just text me who's at our game. The fucking shitmagnet. He reckons 150-200 of our lot there. Not sure if he's pissed or having me on but thinks we could have outnumbered the Derby lot. A sub 500 crowd would be lovely.

Newport tweeting for an emergency ref or the game can't continue. :)

Well, I decided a trip to the gym was better time spent than going to our Checkafraud Trophy game.

Eventhough we're not taking this seriously at all, we're winning again against higher opposition - Luton U23 1-0 Millwall. Mr OG again.

Forgot we were even playing to be honest.

Bang on 1200 at ours tonight. A new post war low crowd (previously held from our last home game in this comp).

This game being a total dead rubber with both teams already qualified.

2251 at Kenilworth Road with 370 from Millwall, with the railway line absolutely fudged earlier.

I was hoping that was a typo with an extra 2 entered there, but unfortunately not.

Never been so happy to be losing and heading out of a cup competition. The fa cup replay next week is the only one I care about. In fact I probably rank the Cheshire senior cup above this rubbish.

Crouch, Imbula, Muniesa and Bojan for stoke. They had Charlie Adam playing last time as well.

Developing young English players my arse! It's a fucking embarrassment.

And Shrewsbury having to go to Middlesbrough on a Tuesday night for their "regionalised" fixture despite the fact both teams are already out is an utter piss take.

Attendance at SJP is 728 with 143 from Swindon.

No idea why that many Swindon fans could be bothered.

Apologies on behalf of Luton fans for that attendance. Surprised/disappointed that Millwall brought that many as well.

No, what did he say?

Presumably this:

“I don’t see why people would object to clubs like ourselves being involved in the competition to be perfectly honest,” he enthused.

“It’s a great opportunity for young players to play at a competitive level and I think a fair few of the clubs who have entered for the first time have enjoyed some very good results.

“Attendances have never been great at the group stage, so people who suggest that U23 teams featuring are the reason for that are incorrect.

“Maybe it needs a side like ourselves to go on and reach the latter stages of the tournament, if that does happen then maybe it will be impossible for them to change this system.”

He added: “I have said it before but for me the way this competition is now is fantastic, and it would be missed from the calendar, certainly here. I just feel it benefits everybody involved.”

First team to win a shoot out and not progress! Pointless farce... thank the Lord Mansfield got a late winner and we can focus our second string on the Reserve League instead.

We won a penalty shoot out tonight and also had no chance of going through.

357 Mansfield fans at Derby in a crowd of 870. At least the Derby fans couldn't be arsed with it.

The penalties? No idea, but the BBC Essex commentator labelled it as a 'bit of fun' considering there was literally nothing riding on it.
