Although I prefer this comparison:
Gillingham v Luton: JPT Trophy, October 2015 - 3,428
Gillingham v Luton @CheckatradeTrpy August 2016 - 2,128

Factor in the budget prices (it was £5 for an adult ticket tonight I believe) and that should still count as an alarming enough cash flow drop.

Good to know the BBC are interested in all these competitive games.

oldham is 1,800

more than hoped for, but their last jpt home gates were crowds of 2,500 and 3,000 and this was a £5 ticket game, so 50% drop in ticket price and still 700 fans less
Very disappointed in our away following. It's apparently around 150. I was hoping for less than 50 making the trip

Apparently 7 foreign born players in the Reading side. Completions a fucking joke, Fucked off so many clubs have got 1000+ gates and 2000+ in some cases.

Must do better in the 2nd round of games. Credit to Chesterfield, Wimbledon, Fleetwood, Accrington, Crawley and anyone else with a 3 figure crowd and too the fans of the premier league clubs that didn't travel to see your reserve teams!

28 year old Frenchman Tony Andreu scoring a hat trick for them too. Thought this was about helping young English players develop?

What an embarrassment.

Not just Norwich taking the piss either - Stoke had Charlie Adam playing, someone else had a 39 year old German goalkeeper apparently etc.

We did our bit towards helping young English players develop and will be rewarded with a fine in all likelihood. You really couldn't make it up.

really is farcical, and the excitement too at our game which is being denied to people who would have gone to it had there not being something preventing them from going. You wouldn't get that sort of entertainment from Stoke reserves.

Hate that it's this "competition", but at least we've started taking our chances
An own goal and three for our defenders though so not much use for the likes of Ibehre and Wyke.

337 Donny fans? I was hoping 150 max, quite a few more staggies than expected too.

Is it? I care that little that I don't even know our starting 11.

The sooner we're knocked out of this shit show the better.

I'm surprised we got that many with 2 home league games in succession.

In other news I watched the bbcs remake of porridge, which was shit

Lambe was the only attacker who scored for us and he's the only one who's been putting them away already. Saying that, there were no sitters missed so that's a small bonus on the attacking front.

Our replacement for Lambe gave the ball away tonight for one of Doncaster's goals. Do actually wish we'd have kept him.

He's pretty damn good. 3 goals so far and he's one of the first names on the team sheet.

We drew but lost on pens to MK Dons. That's... confusing to type.

Akinde (Pen) didn't feature in the shootout which is a shame as we know what would've been the result of that.

To top off the night KC has just said 'footballing lesson' for the first time this season. What a cup.

Some really disappointing attendances there. I was hoping for more 3 figure attendances and maybe the odd 2 figure

very happy with the attendances tonight, I think alot of damage was done.

as i have mentioned afew times alot of the clubs tonight tried a very sneaky £5 adult and £1 kids price to get in.................why cannot they have offered this deal in previous years..........oh because it was done to try and spite the boycott and not to help the fanbase.

so in most of these games you can half the crowd in terms of income they received (usually clubs charge about £10 for these games)

I'd say all clubs made good losses tonight across the board which is excellent, plus some fab photos were generated.
