Well Chelsea have something like forty players out on loan...Fifa looking to cap it to a max of six out on loan so may change things. I don’t see why the big Prem clubs have such an interest in huge academies anyway hardly any ever see first team action.

Manchester City for example, hardly any have come through as they just buy full squads... Foden is outstanding but even then is he suffering from a lack of first team action? Even if sent to the Bundesliga on loan it would be something.

United had glorious years with their kids but hardly any come though now, Chelsea the same, even Liverpool don’t much anymore.

Spurs and Everton have a few come through but how much talent is wasted in these clubs by never getting close and missing out on first team action. Should be set up so lower league clubs get most of the youngsters as we would be the places too young talent could break through and play men’s football.

As said above we’ve had a few loanees from Premier League teams and they’ve been meh.

Over 1200 at Crawley including 484 from Pompey. Pompey fans singing that we were shit fans cos we were so quiet.

We lost 0-1 (not that I care) but we got some game time to a couple of players coming back from injuries and flapper had a go in goal.

All In all meh.

Yay we won again in a game that doesn’t count.

Some Mansfield’s folk seem confused bu the fact that If we made it to the final they wouldn’t be watching a competitive fixture in a game that doesn’t count. The record books would show whereas we’ve beenl to Wembley its not a competitive game or cup so cant be seen as official down the line.

It’s an odd one

We win this game. We had 469 for our game against Southampton’s kids tonight. That’s our lowest home attendance ever (previously 600-odd) and the lowest across the JPT this season. Not the lowest ever sadly as Fleetwood had 362 a couple of years ago apparently. But still a decent effort.

Gills has less tonignt 319 I believe.

Ours will be beaten next week again as Burton had 60 odd which Boro won’t bring and our fans will be less interested in a U21 team.

Yellow cards don't count apparently for some fans only reds, hence we're dirty bastards....
Only 3 yellow cards in the game, which are our player received two for his red.
We can't all afford a team filled with international superstars either....

We took almost 400 to Sunderland, that's not terrible though, it's still a small fraction of the last time we went there for a proper match. I think we can still point to it as an example of a lack of interest in this competition. It's just a bit of an anomaly one of our closest big teams have found themselves in League One this year, it was never going to be a sub-100 following. Next up, home to Stoke U-23, could have that one down as a low attendance.

Mellon made ten changes from the weekend and we lost 6-0 at Shrewsbury meaning we’re out. :brill:

Some of our fans dont get it though. They’re slating managers decision to make the changes in a competition we have a proud history in. (Even though its not the same!)

The lack of coverage from EFL twitter, sky sports, bbc ect is great.
The fact we haven’t put anything up post match speaks volumes. Bring on the fa cup.

I’m not sure what I find more annoying, the fact over 1000 fans went to the game at Field Mill (must be local Lincoln fans) or that we actually can hold on to a lead in the tinpot cup and win a game.

4-1 away to Bradford is never a bad result even in this shit cup.
After the two poor performances previously this will be good for confidence if nothing else.
Yes bradford had kids in but our team had a few changes as well, although the first teamers should be looking to build on that

Can understand you all being jealous of our Barbados and St Kitts and Nevis internationals

I have no problem with us fielding a weakened side or going out of the tournament. However, I don’t think that, for example, Paddy Wharton seeing 6 goals go past him on a first start in the nets for Rovers aside from friendlies could be seen as beneficial or confidence building.

It's nice to see that as a team we're clearly not taking this competition seriously. Nothing post match sounded like we were disappointed we lost 3-0 and we ended up playing Dean Lewington, a man who has been fairly suspect in his own position of Left Back for the two seasons we were in League One for most recently, in Central Midfield.
Just a shame we took over 200 to Luton, not just because it's the checkatrade trophy but also because they charged adults £18 for a game that had 17 changes between the two teams.

We took more to Scunthorpe last night than we used to take to Grimsby in the league. That's embarrassing. We'll probably only have a couple of hundred more at Port Vale this weekend.

The excited newbies could be excused last season but there's no excuse this year. Even Cowley has come out and pretty much admitted he won't be taking the competition seriously.

How very 90s, we had a couple of our squad back then played for some of the Caribbean islands.

Unfortunately for you nobody uses Lincoln as the hallmark for anything past or present.

Sadly we are in the second round, though we still have Rovers to play.
Yeovil v West Ham U21s - neither team can qualify so will anyone turn up?
What a ridiculous competition.
