We have signed Bernard mensah again on loan until the end of the season
I hope he is on fire for you. Nice bloke who didnt get much chance for us but looked useful and has proved he can score in the conference

We've apparently signed John Marsden on loan until the end of the season from Southport.

No idea, but he needs to be a LB or midfielder!

Striker who has scored 4 in 20 for Southport.

Nice to see Moyses has his priorities right. I utterly hate this football club sometimes.

Thats a terrible signing. It must be because he scored a brace against you in 3-3 Draw at Haig Avenue earlier in the season! Not sure you need another Striker anyway.

Doesn't sound as though he's a striker per se, more of a 'in the hole' type guy.

Given that Power's suspended and Robinson is injured, it leaves no-one in there anyway. Plus, it increases what are incredibly limited options in midfield i.e. we have four and play with three (and keeps Jordan further away from the squad...).

Barnet tried to sign Neilson before he left us, but no move happened as we weren't prepared to sell to rivals.

Hurst also says Neilson wasn't fully committed to the cause as he was made available for loan with some other players and not long after wanted his contract terminated.

"He needed to get himself fit and right, and if he had done he would have been in and around the team.
"Ultimately, I don’t think he was fully committed to the cause – so in the end we came to a mutual agreement."

Obviously after the transfer window so he couldn't then join Barnet or anyone else in this league until next season.

Southport have replaced Marsden with James Gray from Accrington till the end of the season. Could potentially be decent at this level.

The two Newcastle lads, Adam Campbell and Callum Roberts, extend their loans until the end of the season.

Newton off to Notts County with Jordan Cranston coming here.
Think Newton will struggle defensively in League One.

Well I think everyone at Alfreton are glad to see the back of him as he always used to play well against us! Wish him well at Notts though.

Actually thought he was terrible at your place last season but scored that cracking late, late leveller but I'm sure on about the fa cup goals this season?
Has clearly been playing like someone who has wanted away of late, good luck to him mond been a massive provider of goals during his time here with his crossing and dead ball ability.

Exactly he didnt have his best game that day but still manager to affect the game and come up with a late leveller that was the beginning of the end for our play-off challenge last season

Final word on Scott Neilson from Hurst today and I believe I mentioned this already in this thread about what he did with Dave Moore in the warm-up before the Macc game and this has confirmed it.

"For example, he was asked to do some running prior to Macclesfield game, having originally told me that he'd be fit to play, but then he only did one run before dropping out because his foot was hurting.

"Can you imagine if I'd have involved him, and put him on the pitch when he wasn't fit?

From an outside looking in it appears that despite being talented, that his attitude was absolutely shocking and that it was having a toxic impact on the squad.

I really can't see what else Hurst can do? You can blame him all you like but if Neilson's not man enough and willing to put the effort in then it's best for Grimsby if he's shipped out.

Not sure anyone's blaming Hurst for not getting the best out of Neilson / Thomas, it was 100% the right decision to let them both go. It's just he's an absolute gobshite most of the time and seems to say things just to save face. I'm not saying he should always tell fans what's going on behind the scenes but if any sort of backlash might come his way then he'll dodge it to the ends of the earth.

So, Newton to Notts County on loan until the end of the season including a loan fee.

As part of the deal, we've signed LB Jordan Cranston on loan until the end of the season.

Vanarama Conference club Torquay United have taken former Jarrow Roofing striker John Campbell on loan from Sky Bet League Two side Oxford United for the rest of the season.

Interesting.

Yep. Never heard of him, but scored one goal for Oxford in one start and two sub appearances. Hit 24 in 19 for Jarrow Roofing between August-November last year.

Can't be any more frustrating than Bowman.
