We have signed former Notts County and Torquay keeper Fabian Spiess. Had him in preseason and he was very underwhelming! God helps us!
Wasn't great for us in his loan spell last season. In fact he punched the ball into his own net against Torquay.

Wimbledon, Barnet and Luton were three of them if you believe Twitter. So yes, not exactly top L2 clubs but still a good effort to persuade him to stay in non-league.
Luton may not at the minute be a top League 2 club based on league position, but they are a massive League 2 club based on fanbase etc, so to beat off competition from them you have done very well indeed IMO

Not the most popular player at Cheltenham over the his two years but will forever be remembered for scoring the winner against our nearest and dearest neighbours Hereford to set a cup tie against Everton. We made £200,000 from that and the sheep worriers effectively went bust.

How many times have Cheltenham gone over their "completely maxed budget" now? 7, 8?

Looks like a proper do or die attempt at going up.

Ah, thanks. I hadn't seen his name mentioned in here so thought I had missed something!

Bit of an overreaction to this signing. Career average of about 1 in 3? and a few goals for a mid table side this season and he is Cheltenhams final piece of the puzzle? Doubt it. Aren't Wright, Munns and Waters three of Cheltenham's best players anyway?

Hahaha, pipe down. 14 goals in 26 games, has come in for Rendell with aplomb, and has been a key figure in turning our season around. Great signing for Cheltenham, think he would have been more than good enough for League 2, and will further strengthen their title bid.

He's got a point though. Does the 5th top scorer in the league guarantee Cheltenham the title? Probably not.

Good signing, nothing more.

An average of a goal every three games is plenty good enough. Amond has a similar record, for example.

Fair point but Amond has always been at a higher level (granted that I don't know the Irish league well). Amond's goals have also mainly come from the bench, especially for Accy and Morecambe, and starting every game is reaping the rewards. Holman has scored no higher than conference level? Will he have a better strike rate being in a promotion-chasing side? We'll see.

Yep, you pipe down Paul Haddock. You should be lavishing praise upon this signing, but quietly summoning the Jennings Effect upon Holman and Chelmsford.

Our crowds have been higher than expected and we'll be offloading some of the deadwood this month, hence we've a bit more to spend. But yes, if we don't go up this year our budget for next season will be a lot smaller, so we need to give it everything now.

They are, but of those three only Wright is an out-and-out striker. Munns is a midfielder and Waters, though he has been playing up front, I would expect to shift to midfield. When Morgan-Smith returns we'll have him, Wright, Waters and Holman to choose from - 40 goals between those four so far this season.

Holman does seem to enjoy playing for little clubs. He didn't get on at our place because we are massive. :bdick:

Oh yeah, that's a reasonable point. "A few goals in a mid-table side" is more than a tad disingenuous, though.

Harriers are trying to get closer and closer to the 50 player mark in one season. We've signed Arthur Gnahoua and Ousmane Fane
http://www.harriers.co.uk/news/arti...elder-ousmane-fane-join-harriers-2885546.aspx

Also George Cater has left us to join Stafford Rangers after a loan spell there.
I make it 47 registered players we have now had this season (of which 10 haven't made it onto the pitch - not including these two).

Macc fans - any info on Arthur Gnahoua? I can't really recall anything about him from his time with you.

Surely that isn't the same Adam Smith that we were all told by the Wrexham fans that is REALLY GOOD when he signed for them in the summer, is it?
