Could not be happier at having Doe and Howell back, in particular Doey who could surely still play top end League Two if required. Just proves the lure of Still - getting those 2 back has really made me excited for the season ahead now.

Conner Robinson and Greg Tempest both seem to indicate they'll not be taking up the offer of coming back in pre-season to earn a contract.

Shame for Robinson, someone who came through our youth system, who showed good promise at 17/18 but didn't develop any further really. Not aided by consistent minutes in the pitch but he was never better than a place on the bench so it was going to be difficult for him to get that.

He's been at Boston before so he'll probably get offered something there. I think Tempest also played for them before as well so he might rock up there, too. Nat Brown is another one (they've offered him a deal).

Haha!

Seriously though our forward line is looking strong for next season. Now to improve the defensive personnel.
Rankine showed promise 10 years ago, failed to deliver but still making a living on that initial promise. Bloody useless, which is why he's now at Guisly. Clee is a spent force too. Conference North mid-table 2018.

Conner Robinson and Greg Tempset out for us, too. Both were invited back for pre-season but have declined.

Dan Pilkington should be Ret not R on Barrow's list and Andy Parry was signed by Barrow permanently last season (in January i guess) after an initial loan spell and is therefore not a new signing now - just a re-signing - so shouldn't be on the list.

Interesting stuff.

With reference to Macclesfield, technically Kristian Dennis is not an 'out' because he was on loan to us from Stockport, just as Whitehead was on loan from Wigan, and Diagne on loan from Lincoln. Theo Bailey Jones should be on our 'out' list as he was released.

Gateshead sign Sam Jones a 24 year old midfielder from Alfreton on a 2 year deal. Scored 19 goals last season.
I have no idea about him in the slightest

We have signed Sam Jones from Alfreton, is he any good?
You have got yourself a gem of a player there. Sam is an excellent player. He has a great engine and 19 goals from midfield in a bang average side is not to be sniffed at. Sam does have a bit of an attitude issue I think he lost interest with us after being linked with Barrow in Jan which culminated in him stamping on a guys leg a few weeks from the end of the season right in front of the ref basically begging to be sent off so he could the final few games out which was a shame.

Best signing yet for Gateshead though IMO.

I am surprised by all of them as well. However I think getting people to relocate up here is difficult.
I also feel we have a good reputation of getting players into the football league and themy succeeding

Didn't he play up front when we beat you 3-0 in April?
