If Grimes can recapture some of his old form

If Gray can knuckle down and stop being an idiot off the pitch

If Bishop can roll back the years.

If Almond can get a bit of consistency.

Then Southport have got some decent attacking options this season.

I think Bishop has signed on as a player purely as back-up, we've still got Jamie Allen ahead of him in the pecking order and we've taken up an option on Connor McCarthy after he spent last season on loan at Telford.

Almond may benefit from us having other attacking threats, he lost form last season when sides figured out if he was man-marked and closed down quickly by 2-3 players we offered very little.

We're still massively lacking at the back though, as it stands I think we've got one centre-half, no left-back and no keeper!

that's like saying if Chester actually sign someone they might be able to raise a team ;)

Well their supporters are always calling for their youth players to be given a chance. Looks like that will happen this year.

Nailed on for relegation.

Least you got rid of Coughlin!

If you can sort Grays head out he's a really good player. Should be getting 20 goals a season in this league.

We're complete the opposite. We've got 2 keepers, 6 defenders, 4 midfielders but only 1 striker signed up at the mo! People getting twitchy that we haven't got a 20+ a season goalscorer in the squad yet, given our trouble scoring goals last season.

Ashley Grimes has signed for Southport from Barrow. I'm guessing he's not wanted at Holker Street as he's not a 7ft tall carthorse?

He's not wanted because he's dogger. Some Barrow fans will try telling you he didn't get a chance and Cox doesn't want him because he's not 7ft tall - those with any sense will have noticed his total lack of effort, terrible control and inability to get in the box.

Ex Gloucester, Bath and Weston?

Not their usual type of big name ex league signing. Rendell must be off to Aldershot.

See Mark Ricketts signed for B-Wood. They will be contenders next year, the amount of quality players they keep bringing in.

We've signed Brendan Moore, the keeper we had on loan from Fleetwood at the end of the season. Great signing for us.

Adam Mekki signs on for another year at Rovers.

Decent player at this level. If he can build up a bit more stamina will do well in what is anticipated to be a more attacking line-up at Prenton Park.

Didn't people say Boreham Wood would do well this time last year? Good players don't make a good squad.

True enough. Mark Ricketts has been great for us over the last seven years, but he'll be 32 in October, and on the evidence of last season, his best days are definitely behind him. Don't think we tried too hard to keep him.

Happy he's signed, consistent performer and a trier.

Dan Sparkes signs for Torquay according to the Braintree forums. Have the Iron only got about 4 signed up for next season?

Long road ahead methinks for Jamie Day.

We've signed Bernard Mensah from Watford, is he any good?

I can remember a couple of seasons ago when he was on loan at Braintree he tore us apart. But that was a good 3 years ago.

Pleased with that, if so. Tore us apart in their 5-1 win at Plainmoor last year.

We've signed Alex Woodyard.

Pleased with that. England C Captain, NL Young Player of the Year and won a Braintree award too, I think.
