Tribunal's are generally based on % of profit, not % of transfer fee.

Aye, I'd forgotten about that.

We will be rebuilding in the Conference North and hopefully we'll have Graham Barrow in charge and some players who actually know how to play football. Most Chester fans are on a high after watching the fund-raiser last night. Michael Owen's All Stars v Colin Murray's Chester FC Old Boys entertained a crowd of 2,080 and raised £25k, which means we've got the total up to £75k. Some of the players who left us when we were at Step 4, would show the current lot a thing or two.

He ruined his career with this move. Tranmeres scouts did a poor job but so did whoever advised Alabi.

It’d be in his interest to cancel his contract in the summer but will he will think long term or be more interest in another year of football league level wages.

Sorry Maidstone fans but he's not very good and a lot of our fans our happy he's gone out on loan as wouldn't start games no matter how many injured defenders we had.
Surely he cant be any worse than our current lot at the back......we've been leaking so many goals we gotta try someone different.

Aldershot fans what was he like for you??

Has he been any good? Every time I've seen him he's looked a bit pedestrian.
Started the season in central midfield and was ok. Moved out wide since then and been ineffective (it's not his natural position) and seems to have lost confidence with result that he's looked totally out of it. He's one of the players on a two year contract.

And Byron Harrison has gone to Sutton.

Arguably the best striker we've had in the past decade, but he's gone missing this season. Before last year's injury, he was up there he couldn't stop scoring - since Cox departed, he looks like he couldn't be arsed.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him score loads for Sutton though, as there is still a player in there.

James was alright around August and September time but he’s been pretty pants since then, probably not helped by Bignot often sticking him out wide mind you. Not sure why he started ahead of much better teenager Tom Crawford last week, especially if he was on the way out.

Vose is here basically on just petrol money out of the remainder of ringfenced old build the budget money.

The reports coming out of Tranmere highlight just how amateurish Chester are. When Tranmere discovered Chester were struggling financially we offered to settle outside court at £20,000 plus 15% of profit from future sales; above what we valued the player at. Chesters "board" asked for £70,000. They went into the tribunal on the basis they thought that the panel would split the money down the middle, instead the tribunal have obviously gone with Tranmere's above market value offer.. money Chester could have had several weeks ago.

Also worth highlighting, this is not a player who has come through an academy. Chester took a player in the opposite direction from Tranmeres academy a few years ago, when we were a top end league one club and had invested several years in him, they paid £15k.

Couldn't care less about the fee from a Tranmere view point. Do you really think 20,000 out of a 6m turnover is going to effect us? Just laughable your clubs severe lack of know how at board level was the cause of it dragging on so long.

Dragged it on for what, 2/3 weeks longer since the finance stuff came out? We've been prioritising negotiations for bigger fee's ahead of this one since then during a board upheavel. Meanwhile this date was set.

Not exactly much substance to this either really, just your word?

Well, they are Going For It™ so you'd expect him to, starting tomorrow obviously.

More fool us for signing him, but that valuation seems very high for a nondescript player.

Perhaps when its our turn to be in financial crisis, Chester will sign our tea lady for 100k.
We've been had off, call the police.

As long as Tranmere stick to the current internal four tier wage bands and high non football income that isn't going to happen.

Pleased with our signing. Could still do with another striker mind.

Looked a talented player when I saw him. The Dagenham fire sale continues (and they were already a bit shite). Could be making a spectacular late bid for relegation.

Still a couple more to leave too, I reckon! Hoping we can nab Cheek.

None of that is true. Palios offered £10k. He was all right for us, but it's not our fault that you didn't scout him. £25k is about right imo.

What Wrexham/Hannah stuff? You mean when Chester offered a two year deal to gazzump us for a crocked player past his best? That worked put well for you didnt it?

Pretty much universal agreement that we wouldn't want to offer him more than a year. I can't remember much whining.

Fantastic shot-stopper, maybe a little suspect at gathering crosses. I thought he was very good for us, and Wolves seemed to rate him highly too. I'd imagine he'll be perfectly capable in the division below.

I meant from some quarters there was desperation to come out with face-saving stories, just frothing at the mouth to come out and say 'Oooh but we rejected him first'. Petty nonsense like that.

Same again here with Matt Jones lying his arse off on twitter, although probably being fed.
