It means management has given up any hope of avoiding relegation. Saves some money this season but he's on a two year contract.
My mate has been hammering our club for not signing Ross Hannah since he had his loan spell with us in 2012. I've tried to humour him but when he asked me how he'd played against us at The Deva earlier in the season I gave him my truthful opinion that he looked like a spent force, winding down his career. :ds:

How is Sampson doing for you guys? Without a doubt the worst ever striker to play for us.

Looked useless earlier this season. He's come on massively since Kevin Davies took over, probably because Davies has taught him a few more tricks of the trade. He's probably on course to be our player of the season, which may have an elememt of default to it as it looks like he could be the only player to have been with us all season!

Defender Adam Crookes recalled by NFFC. Decent player and blessed with pace, sad to lose him for the run in.

Jeff Hughes is returning to his first club, Larne, on a three year deal, although he will see out this season with us.

Good luck to him. A very good player and a nice bloke too.

Keith Alexander signed him for us from Larne back in the mid-00's (also brought in another unknown, young Irishman by the name of Gareth McAuley).

He got cold feet at one point and was worried about being homesick but we persuaded him he'd be fine and that's how it turned out. We sold him to then Championship side Crystal Palace but it didn't quite happen there for him. He started off as a LB for us before being more of a winger in his second season and when he moved he was kinda caught in the middle of the two positions and that probably hindered him.

Even back when we signed him he said he's be back there at some stage, so it's nice to see it happened and a 3-year deal at 33 (as he will be when his contract starts) is a good deal for him.

Hes still a decent player, 2nd most assists for us this season despite playing only 15 or so games (nearly an assist a game). However he wasn't going to be more than a squad player for us going forward so it makes sense for both us and him. Wish him all the best.

Jeff Hughes mainly plays central midfield for Rovers now. Unless Wallace retains fitness and gets a new contract, we need a similar type of player, calm in possession and a good distributor of the ball. Norburn and Harris tend to give the ball away too readily.

All the best for his return to Northern Ireland, it would be good if he could help us back into the FL before his departure.

How did they get on at yours?
Prestedge looked better when we had him on loan to be honest. He came into pre season unfit, carrying extra weight and never really looked as good. As for Anderson, he was good going forward, but looked abit of a liability when it came to actually defending.....was always getting caught out of position or easily beaten.

Fond memories of both during their time here.

We've confirmed the signing of Andre Coker, who was on loan for the back end of the past season.
