We've signed Cheye Alexander following his departure from Aldershot.

Looks like you’re turning into Aldershot B.

Another decent signing for you lot, Cheye’s a tidy player who likes getting forward and has scored some screamers. Quite lightweight and a bit suspect defensively but a good signing for this level.

James Alabi to Orient it is then. One of the worst strikers I’ve seen at Prenton in almost 50 years of watching Tranmere. Did a great impersonation of a beatle dieing on its back on his home debut.
Hope Orient get the Chester version of James Alabi and not the Tranmere one. Good luck to the lad.
Yes indeed, its now down to Alabi to gets his head straightened out. We needed some additional pace and power up front. He still has enough of a reputation at this level to be worth signing, but even I'm sceptical after he was a major flop last season.

Thats it for our summer transfer business, now got a squad of 24 all with registered squad numbers.

We may still get a striker in on loan because Matt "The crippleback" Harrold is out injured until whenever it is he decides to come back. But in the meantime we're gonna give one of youth strikers who've done well for the youth team a chance.

Our captain from last seasom Mark Okoye has signed for Bromley. Rumour has it for near 1k per week plus a healthy signing on fee. He will be sorely missed.

In simpler terms chief, he’s saying your talking shite.

Anyway back to the thread, we’ve signed Luke Burke after Wigan released him. Did ok last season

I don't think he's read my other posts tbf. Don't embarrass yourself further.

I can't see Alabi fitting in at Orient. He is hopeless with his back to goal and struggles in any team where he is expected to join in and link the play.

Apparently several teams were willing to pay money for him, which is remarkable really. I was sure he would be hanging around our youth team for another twelve months.

Think he can, it was in the air he always struggled with us, two examples below of him with his back to goal. The Tranmere move was never going to work, I couldn't see him handling the expectation of the fans. Fragile personality, as aleady mentioned.

I was thinking of occasions when he dropped in to midfield to join in, not when he shielded the ball in the opposition's eighteen yard box.

It was not his ability in the air that was the problem with us, it was his inability to control the ball and play short passes. I think he will struggle in a team that tries to play through midfield.

Anyway, we shall see.

I'm being careful this time round you see... not posted any expectations on where I think we'll finish:dk:

O'Grady was going to embarrass League 2 defenders on his way to the golden boot leading your charge back to League 1 at the first attempt, as I recall it.

I respect you for still posting under the same username.

We just signed George McLennan.

Looking up on him he was a regular starter for Cheltenham when they won this league, but after that it seems be took a year or more off to deal with some mental health problems.

Our youth prospect Doug Tharme has rejecting a contract and is off to a unnamed league club, expected to be Walsall, this leaves us with no CB cover and no signings looking anytime soon, Ricketts has said we might have some movement next week.

Getting beyond a joke, Our 1st pre-season squad tomorrow and we can't fill a bench, have no assistant manager, no goalkeeping coach, Left back is on holiday. So far its looking grim

What is Jake Caprice like Orient fans? We've just signed him on a two year deal. Pretty sure I read he was shite at defending at some point this season.

Sam Finley has signed for Accy from Fylde

Good luck to Sam. Absolutely gutted that he won’t be with us next season but He deserves to move to on. Big loss for us but he owes us nothing. Been absolutely fantastic and hopefully he carries on doing the business

Finley is one that could keep going up and up after leaving this level, like Sam Clucas did.

Yeah not sure what Mellon sees in Caprice. he was pretty poor at Lincoln and a little error prone at Leyton Orient.

Hahahahahaha! Swift revenge for Alabi!

Good things: He is very fast. Like, meep meep fast. He’ll get you a few assists by running past his opposite number and hitting a low cross. And you get to sing “WHOOP WHOOP - IT’S THE SOUND OF CAPRICE!!”

Bad things: Anything to do with defending. Positional awareness, tackling, marking, knowing when to get forward and when disappearing 20 yards past his own winger is possibly a bad idea. All of it. No surprise that Woking conceded 89 goals with him in their defence, nor that we had the best defensive record in the National after JE arrived and binned Caprice off for Sam Ling. Genuinely our third best right back.

Ps. If you have a defensive CM who is an expert at dropping in for his fullbacks it might work.
