Caprice would be capable of filling a right wing-back role? He usually had a good game against Rovers, but don’t see him deposing Adam Buxton if we’re operating with a flat back four.

He’s simply not good enough on the ball to be a solo threat down the flank. We played him at right mid/right wing a couple of times and it was a disaster. He overlaps at great pace. That’s it.

Hahahahahaha! Swift revenge for Alabi!

Good things: He is very fast. Like, meep meep fast. He’ll get you a few assists by running past his opposite number and hitting a low cross. And you get to sing “WHOOP WHOOP - IT’S THE SOUND OF CAPRICE!!”

Bad things: Anything to do with defending. Positional awareness, tackling, marking, knowing when to get forward and when disappearing 20 yards past his own winger is possibly a bad idea. All of it. No surprise that Woking conceded 89 goals with him in their defence, nor that we had the best defensive record in the National after JE arrived and binned Caprice off for Sam Ling. Genuinely our third best right back.

Ps. If you have a defensive CM who is an expert at dropping in for his fullbacks it might work.

:brill::brill::brill:“WHOOP WHOOP - IT’S THE SOUND OF CAPRICE!!”

Done nothing for years McLaughlin. Wasn't he meant to be a world beater when Grimsby signed him however many years ago?!

He's actually just pudding bum.

Completely agree with you, even if we hadn’t had our budget slashed I wouldn’t have kept him. Has never stood out despite his decent pedigree and I can imagine he was one of our top earners

Our first signing is Gavin Hoyte, too early to open the relegation thread for next year.

You may be down the wrong end of the table but there will be a few struggling next season.

Barrow,Gateshead and Solihull could fill 3 of the bottom 4. Then you have Braintree,Eastleigh and Havant/Harrogate who may struggle. Be positive. A ball hasnt be kicked yet

Barnet have announced a triple signing.

Dan Sparkes
Charlee Adams
Andre Broucaud

Adams is an okay signing. Boucaud and Sparkes are poor ones. I'm genuinely shocked that we've paid money for all three of them. Seems like more of a favour to Daggers than anything.

Sparkes did well for us when fit last season, given a full pre season he should do well. Boucard will run games at this level, technically easily one of the best players in this division. Adams is the poor one, did fuck all for us the whole time he was here.

You’ve signed shit half our squad that finished 11th, the really good players left in Feb/March.

I’ve always liked Boucaud and Sparkes. The latter has a wonderful left foot. Then there’s Boucaud who always looks strong in a tackle and tidy with the ball.

We've also released Christian Scales and Romould Boco after nobody came in for them.

We’ve offered Scott Barrow a deal as well.

Our youth prospect Doug Tharme has rejecting a contract and is off to a unnamed league club, expected to be Walsall, this leaves us with no CB cover and no signings looking anytime soon, Ricketts has said we might have some movement next week.

Getting beyond a joke, Our 1st pre-season squad tomorrow and we can't fill a bench, have no assistant manager, no goalkeeping coach, Left back is on holiday. So far its looking grim
Forget the threadbare squad - I think the count is 11 first team players as it stands with Tharme rejecting a deal?

The most alarming is that after being appointed two months ago, and a week into pre-season, that he has no assistant or GK coach...

We've just signed Liam Noble after Notts County agreed to terminate his contract, wanted to be back in the North East, didn't see that one coming.

Just the kind of midfielder we needed. Impressed with Pools behind the scenes. All doing a good job.

Certainly showing ambition, although we tried that last season and we all know what happened then.
