And an absolutely useless forward to go with said budget. Never once looked like scoring for us, despite the odd neat bit of link-up play. Seems to be a recurring theme whenever he ends up at a proper club. Might do well for Kettering due to their tinpottery.

I can't fault his workrate, and when he nails one of his crunching tackles it's great to watch, but he's a red card waiting to happen and has next to no technical ability. His defensive positioning is also poor which is the main reason he has to go sliding in all the time. I'm surprised we persisted with him at this level for so long, and at NL South level he isn't a starting player for a promotion chasing side.

Our loan keeper Rob Lainton has signed permanently til end of the season from Port Vale, he has been pretty faultless so far. Good addition.
This means Wrexloan AFC can field one more loanee in our matchday squad

Scott Burgess has also gone back to Bury. I think he played about 7 minutes that I can remember.

A massive upgrade on what we had.....first time in years that I've felt confident in a our starting keeper. Everyone is hoping/praying you might let him stay on loan till the end of the season.

I'm clinging to the hope that might happen because you allowed us to play him in the FA Cup.

I think the FA Cup thing it's just circumstance again. Not sure we can cancel Slocombe's loan until after 3rd round weekend and the chances of being in the 4th round are pretty slim.

Only way I can see him staying is if Slocombe's sorts a deal out to leave Bristol Rovers and he comes here on a cheap one until the end of the season.

Glad he's doing well, though.
