You will, he's our only available keeper

Considering that he was near to being No2 to Kasper at Leicester before his Thai takeaway and he came to us, he has dropped a considerable distance. However, even though he was an ever present as part of our League 2 winning side, I didn't rate him that highly.
He gave the impression that he believed his own hype, he was good at the 'for the camera' saves but wasn't too good at the goalkeeping basics.
The amount of times he kicked into touch, we thought that he should have been playing for The Saints (Northampton). :gr:

some selected quotes from the Barnet forum :)
If we are going to be relying on pavey then we will be in a relegation battle by the end of the season.
Worst number 9 I've seen in a Barnet shirt

I saw Harrison at Harrogate last season who was the worst centre forward I'd seen but Pavey tonight was just as bad.

I know Alfie Pavey has only been with us for very short time but his performance ( if you can call it that ) was just as Dover supporters described day he signed. If he is striker Darren Currie has waited all summer for then he has made a huge mistake. Far to static and uninterested which is exactly what Dover said

The biggest problem with the Pavey signing is that we have waited 9 months for a centre forward. Currie made it clear he was looking for a specific type of player and that we were bring very picky and happy to go without a centre forward for months because we wanted the one who did come in to be everything we needed up top.

So for Pavey, whose goalscoring record at this level is less than one in four, to come in is pretty underwhelming.

On a side note, Effiong was class for you last night, looks like we got the wrong guy.

Big signing for York City with the capture of former National League winner Elliott Durrell
WOW
Has he really gone down hill in the last year or are York splashing the cash?? He was brilliant the season Macclesfield won the National League

Hasn't played a game since May. He must be 25 stone by now.

I still struggle to see how he was scoring 30 goals in a season around Northern Prem/Conny North level before we bought him.

You'd have thought he could have got a club in the Conference National.

Surprised at that. He was fairly instrumental in keeping Macc up last year, indeed scoring the goal in their 1-1 draw with Cambridge on the last day that secured their survival. I think he’s had a couple of injuries, but easily good enough from what I saw for L2 when fit.

I imagine that has gone down like a bucket of cold shit at Moss Rose.

Stockport have signed Adam Hammill on loan... bit of a fall from grace for him over the last few seasons.

Amazing signing for them. Obviously he’s not the player he once was but he’s definitely still a league one quality player. Don’t know what’s gone wrong for him at Scunny, he should have stayed at St Mirren.

We’ve just re-signed Anthony Jeffrey, he left at the end of last season suggesting he was going onto better things.

Liam Noble signs for Morpeth Town on a four year deal, must be paying him a small fortune, good luck to him, best shithouse we’ve ever had.

You could never accuse Noble of being ambitious. Had the ability to play at L1 for us and be one of our better performers but he's just wasted his career.
Bit sad really.

serious question Barnet fans - how did you lose 3-0 at Ebbsfleet last week?

He'll still be running around like a total bellpiece after scoring in that league in front of about 27 people no doubt.

Mo Bettamer leaves Barnet by mutual consent.

Best decision for all parties. Barely made a match day squad after DC came in. Can't help but feel he wasted his chance here, after years toiling away in non-league and abroad I'd have thought he'd hit the ground running but he just looked overweight and not particularly interested during his time here.

Shuffles off to Shit Strikers thread.....

He's not great, but ability wise he should be better than Mullings and Panayiotou, even if he is a stone overweight and doesn't win headers.

I’m 56, 15 stone with two metal knees and I’m better than them two....
