except they are spending the money not to improve the team, but to make sure it doesn't get worse...

It’s also probably us done for the month.

I think it’s partly an investment for the future as well - Wootton has improved beyond all recognition since signing for us and is a few more goals in his game away from being worth a lot more than £60k.

Immense signing as he should break 20 at least for the season. Been great since joining on loan.

Wootton is a great signing, great price, great age, and plenty of upside if we sell on assuming he continues to score and dominate Non League centre halves most weeks.

Compared to our past fees on players , £60K is a bargain

hopefully no one will be desperate and daft enough to take a chance on the overweight lump of lard....

He's scored more goals than your entire club. Show a bit of respect to the non league messi

Danny Rowe and Barrow AFC comparison made.

Post approved.
he's an ex-Barrow player too.... and he's either past his best - or not putting in the effort after not getting a move last summer - either way no sane club especially at a higher level would want him. Maybe a NLN club like York might?

I think we might be in for him, not because of the Dave Challinor link but because he’s ex Barrow and has a winners medal from their 1970 World Cup exploits.

Hopefully but realistically we ain’t got a chance we’re creating chances just need a fat lad to poke in all these chances we’re making, chances that Quigley and Rooney both would put away..

He says as he once again demonstrates his encyclopaedic knowledge of our club, describing a non-entity of a player who made about 4 sub appearances for us. We'd all forgotten he played for us until just now.

In all seriousness, Danny Rowe is a shadow of the player he was 18 months ago. He seems to be playing exactly how he did with us when we got relegated - if he's not the golden boy he turns into a petulant prick.

Can see him joining Salford to sit on their bench, or Solihull might revive their interest.

Yup we are basically buying to stay at this level 'pretty good but not that good' but for a bit longer than previously.

I would not fancy us finding a replacement in the summer for next season if Wootton had he not signed.

Wootton is an improvement on any target / hold up man we've had in years with the exception of Shola Ameobi who was great until he was in front of goal.
Plenty of potential for him to play in D2 if he carries on as he is.
This feels like a lot more than a treading water signing.

It seems Notts County are building a side with one eye on a title push next season if they don't go up through the play offs.

Good strategy from them and shows that relegation out of the league isn't the end of the world

We’ve released Andre Boucaud, who is now just too old, slow and injured to cut it at this level.
I wonder if he’ll rejoin Still at Maidstone?

We’ve signed Devante Rodney on loan until the end of the season. Sorry Stockport fans! Bad few days for you it seems

His pass completion stats are through the roof, according to our analyst on Twitter. Sadly he hasn't mastered much beyond the simple short pass.

We've signed a 19 yo keeper called Ted Cann from WBA on a month's loan as Stuart Nelson is injured. If he plays on Saturday he'll be the 7th player in goal for us this season.

We're looking to sign another keeper as back up as our current back up loan keeper is injured as well.
