Stockport County.
I note Tranny fans are saying County have effectively sealed promotion with that signing. Much point in the rest of us turning up?
He's only signed a short term contract. We can't be that confident he's going to win us promotion.

Sounds like a good addition though, we needed more competition and a different type of player in the central midfield area.

Not with the money they are chucking at it this season.

Going all out shit or bust, good luck to them I say.

How long is a short contract?

Gilmour is a decent player and I'd have like to have seen him get another deal with us. Last season, Micky Mellon gave him little opportunity in the early stages, he had a couple of games and did well, only to get an injury which kept him out of the picture, until just before lockdown. Easily a L2 player, though I wouldn't say he in isolation will make Stocky nailed on for promotion. Throw in the others signed though....

From what I’ve seen of Harvey Gilmour he’s too good for non league.
Disappointed he’s gone says it all really.

I don’t think many Notts fans would be begrudge Stockport promotion to be honest. Them and us must easily be the two worst teams to have supported over the past 20 years, with Chessie, Wrexham and Hartlepool not far behind.

Fantastic brotherly spirit and I’m in agreement, being the proper club that they are Stockport spunking their wedge to gain promotion is very much allowed.

The number ten role is his best position, but I would guess Jennings has already taken that spot.

He is left footed and can also play on the left of midfield.
Yeah he’ll be competing with Jennings for the 10 position and Rooney for the 8.

When you were last in League One, we'd already been in this league for 7 years.

Exactly, they could have a bigger budget than the world bank and they’d still be doing it The Right Way

Stockport are probably the team I’m most worried about at the minute to be honest, although as long as we still have Roberts I’d make us big favourites.

Having us anything close to favourites is TFF (do people still this forum by its acronym?) propaganda. We've got a lot of work to do to be anything close.

That Stockport squad is the absolute business and Gannon’s a quality manager.

They’re comfortable favourites in my book, whether you have Roberts or not.

Quite. The way they speak about this Roberts you'd think we were looking at the new Messi.

And if he is that good then Stockport will just buy him anyway.

Still think it's a bit early to tell, we've probably got another four to come in and I would imagine so have many other clubs.
I do think the ex league clubs will dominate this season though, squeezing out the Solihulls and Boreham Woods.

Fiacre Kelleher, our last contracted player has now left the club following relegation. Zero players, zero staff, zero money. Zero point bothering anymore.

The last time you were here you won the league having about 25 trialists a week before kick off, the MACC ARE BACC!

All seriousness though hopefully you can get sorted, rid yourselves of corrupt owners and at least try to compete this season.

his name has been mentioned on our forum, do you think your development squad will start the season, or will there be safeguarding issues there?!

I doubt the club will be in existence come the start of the season.

Really sad to hear this, despite our rivalry Macc fans dont deserve this. I hope you can rid yourselves of the owner and move on. So glad Alty have avoided the risks associated with having owners treating the fans like doormats.

Good solid player should do well for you would have liked to have kept hold of him but he was only on loan and went back to Grimsby, you lads seem to be obsessed with former Chester players

Latest on King's Lynn is that Cameron King has returned, no great surprise once he turned down the chance to stay at Halifax saying he was looking to move nearer home. Heaven only knows how we are paying for all the signings or how Culverhouse is going to keep them all happy but at least (some of) the fans seem happy. Having surprised many last year, we may do the same again this season but feel we need hit the ground running having begun to wobble just as COVID hit.

Bad attitude thing is pretty harsh. Ardley suggested that he hadn’t had a chance until the last couple of months of last season because his focus wasn’t there and he didn’t do enough off the ball, but that’s not unusual for a young midfielder I don’t think.

It’s potentially a very good signing, I would have liked to see us keep him. He’s good on the ball, plays some great passes and gets into goalscoring positions, but can equally give it away a lot trying the spectacular and is often a bit of a passenger out of possession.

Big move for him, I think he can play at a higher level in the future but he needs this one to work out.

I agree with all of that. He’s a very tidy footballer. Excellent passer of the ball. Great vision. Off the ball, needs to improve
