The squad is looking fairly decent so far. Makes you wonder exactly what we were doing last Summer. Wasted a big budget on dross.

Weve signed Kwame Thomas on a one year deal.

Genuinely interested to know how his spell of 0 in 14 for Solihull (with 0 in 5 for Kidderminster) earned him a move to Doncaster!

From the comments by Moore at the time (and Nigel Clough when he moved to Burton) he's seen as a big awkward target man, rather than a goal scorer. Obviously he lasted a matter of weeks at both clubs so how successful he is at that remains to be seen!

Yussuf and Ponticelli are both capable of scoring so hopefully he will just be a foil for them, i don't expect he's been signed to score goals. Not that we've scored many goals for about 5 seasons anyway so it doesn't really matter.

He played for us briefly years ago, but all I can remember is him getting a second yellow and being sent off for leaving the pitch too slowly as a sub.

Thomas will be a decent sub option for us I guess. Ponticelli and Yussuf are certain to start to be honest. We still need another striker or wide man though.

Team won't be looking too bad, should be good enough for top half under a manager who knows how to manage.

Proper head it, kick it defender Myles Anderson, decent signing for them.

Good signing for them. Always gave 100% on the field in his public school boy accent.

Would’ve kept him as back up personally. Hope he does well for them.

We’ve had a few pre-seasons where we all thought the squad looked ‘fairly decent’.

Right up until the proper football started.

Have to say, I don’t share some of our fans enthusiasm for players who were shit in the Bulgarian second division.

Oh us too, every season.

I should have clarified our squad looks better than last year, we haven't signed anyone from Connahs Quay, or the Scottish second division for starters.

Yeah this season is different. Kwame Thomas is probably the least exciting of the lot, but compare that to previous seasons when the least exciting signings were the likes of Michael Bakare and Jazzi Barnum-Bobb.

I don't for one minute think we will win the league, but before pre season many had us down for a relegation scrap and I think this squad is too good for that now.

Be fair, Bulgarian Premier League. But yes, I agree.

Who's actually signing them kinda players then? Or is Ardley told they fit with how the owners want and that's that?

Story is (and to be fair there’s no reason to disbelieve it currently) that the owners’ analysts and data people recommend names from their work, but Ardley and his team decide whether to take it forward or not. He’s talked a lot about having watched loads of footage of Rodrigues and Sam.

Schoolboy error. Do you reckon he’s the replacement for Dennis?

In my time supporting Notts we’ve probably signed hundreds of foreign players. You could probably count on one hand the number who’ve been any good. I‘d say that goes for the lower leagues in general. Makes sense, players often have difficulty settling into new clubs anyway, without the extra aggro around moving countries. Particularly when the resources aren’t there to make life as comfortable as it is in the PL or Champ.

The bookies have us and Stockport down as favourites for the league, means fuck all, but I’m preferring their recruitment.

I’m sceptical... anyone can look good on YouTube.

we also have lost two players who were good for us last season in Mitch Rose and Dennis.

casper has barely played football in the last two years... Rodrigues has been in the Dutch second league and Sam in the Bulgarian premier league...

it might be some sort of money ball genius but it could easily be 2015 again which let’s be honest was a big part of our decline

He should be able to score a few at this level, it didn’t work when we gave him a shot at league football but he didn’t play much.

Had a good season with Solihull Sharks in 18-19 where he got about 20.

Had 2 loan moves last season back to this level and did fuck all though.
