Not quite true. We had the option to not agree to the loan termination. Keates decided to allow it as it sounds like Yussuf had already signed papers with Chesterfield before we'd sanctioned for him to be able to technically do that- no point forcing a player to stay with us, and we understood that he was being offered a chance of a permanent deal which he wouldn't have got with us. There is no issue with him leaving to join a club under those circumstances, just the way its been done seems to have screwed us over a bit.

A very good snippet from Keats interview pre match last night

so he asked to get off at a services in case a deal with Chesterfield came about. By the time Keates had spoken with our upper management (Whoever that is in this interim period!) and phoned Adi back, he was in Chesterfield and signing for you. No bitterness from signing him here, whilst he was our top scorer he was best of a bad bunch and no player is irreplaceable at this level.

Chesterfield are however doing it the Fleetwood way a little bit I feel. I should also mention what a nice 'gentleman' Rowe is to sign half a dozen Gloucester players since leaving them

Dean does mention that a few people released themselves from contracts on Monday, so hopefully one of them is decent enough until the summer. I have a half inkling we may end up with Wes Thomas, even though he cited family reasons for leaving Notts Co. (I believe he is London based?)

Meh, he wasn't very good.

With it being Chesterfield I would imagine dodgy agents are involved. There's very little sense in a player moving directly from here to there and deep down Chesterfield fans know that.

Do we really give a shit? He’s decent but we will be setting our sights a hell of a lot higher come the summer.

You will have a lot of fun in the future revisiting this thread once Rowe has moved on and starts taking the best players with him, let’s see how understanding Chesterfield fans are then.

He did - was never said exactly why he didn’t want to come into training because of Covid, just that it was a family reason, same as when we agreed to terminate his deal.

He’s definitely London-based, so would be a surprise to see him rock up at Wrexham. Useful player, though, do a job for anyone in this league.

You do give a shit. The turmoil on social media suggests you all do.

I don't think the other Wrexham fans gets it, he isn't your player so why would we approach you? He was Blackpools and we approached them. As for 'not getting why he'd sign for us' I could give you a few reasons that would boil some piss it seems so I won't but we've offered him a 1 year deal beyond this season and you didn't, end of. It's really not that difficult in today's current shitstorm to want a bit of stability, you offered him none, Blackpool offered him none, we did.

Looks like he is on a decent wage at Blackpool and taking him on loan is a way of him getting that wage until his contract expires. That way he gets the maximum from this existing contract he can. We might be paying a contribution to Blackpool (if you were, we will?) but effectively have a pre-contract agreement in place for next season whilst Yussuf knows he will be released at the end of his existing contract. Had Yussuf been given a free transfer he could have lost out financially by exiting Blackpool at this juncture.

My take on it all. It's clear he's a decent player, it's clear Wrexham will miss him and because of that I can understand the saltiness.

That happened to us 6 years ago when we got to the League 1 play offs. Manager said he was leaving during the play offs against Preston, proceeded to take his backroom staff and Morsy, Roberts and others with him. Then look what happened to us, consecutive relegations out the FL from the verge of the Championship.

Been there, done that got the t-shirt. Rowe is ambitious and may well go on and do very well for us and himself. If he does it'll happen again, it's football.

He'll have a job on pinching players on frees who are tied down on proper contracts though compared to nicking loads of part timers on two bob contracts like he has done for us. Becomes a bit harder the higher up you go.

I'm assuming you mean me. I shouldn't have used the word approach, you didn't need to formally approach us as he wasnt our player. But normal decorum would mean a manager might pick up the phone to another manager and have a chat about it first, its just good manners. Rowe seems like a bit of a twat though to be fair.

I get the last sentence. We were told the way he goes about his business is interesting which I am definitely seeing. It's all good whilst it works, if we start losing a few it could go pear shaped I suspect. As a bloke he comes across very well in interviews and has thrown himself into all of the Community Trust and Charity work in the Town that the new owners are involved in which I respect him for though outside of his 'day job'.

Adi's take btw -

Pretty Understanding if it's to go up the football ladder.

We had it with Paul Cook not that long ago but hey, if the thought gives you some satisfaction then fill your boots.

Really hope Rowe is "a bit of a twat", been a soft touch off and on the field for too long now.

So we’re now throwing about personal insults calling Rowe a ‘twat’ just because he’s identified and signed some good players to make us a better team??? Interesting take that one...

Fuck me, some of you lot should hear yourselves :fl: :fl:

Hahahaha what kind of take is this? You keep clutching onto those straws my mate... Football players move on regularly, it’s how this profession works if you’ve not already realised by now...

What you should be doing is asking yourself why these players want to move on to work with James Rowe??? Might be to do with him being good at what he does??

It’s about time we started throwing our weight about at this level as a club anyway, for too long we’ve been sleepwalking into utter insignificance and I’d have argued that under the previous regime we were a year or two from part time football / even worse...

Turmoil

We are being taken over by multi, multi-millionaires rich beyond belief, I certainly don't give a shite about any of our current players leaving. I just wish the manager would do one and then we can start building for the push next season.

You seem to forget we are both mid-table sides who will do nothing this season except fart along pointlessly just like last season and wait for the season to be stopped.

Wait... wasn’t your multi-gazillionaire owner pumping some money into the club through form of a ‘donation’ this January window for you to sign some players???

Yet you’ve ended up with less players than you started the window with and arguably a weaker squad... :fl:

Swear they weren't this bad before one decent lester started posting again. He brings out the worst in them for sure.

I have a theory that One Decent Lester is in fact B2TF and has only started posting under that username again as everyone has his Halifax account on ignore.

I'm going to whack ODL on ignore as well, see what happens.

Not enough emojis for it to be the same person.

It’s ever since THAT WIN the other week I think and who could blame them, considering how well they played that day.

And imagine them with career journeyman/crock Yussuf too? A scary thought.

I suspect that ODL is actually B2TFs son. Or the Marty to his Doc Brown, living together in a slightly suspect arrangement, travelling through time in a clapped out Ford Cortina, trolling for LOLZ.

Can't wait for Yussuf to bang in the winner away at Wrexham in April to secure our play off spot.
