I was told before this Tishimanga transfer that Khan was offer £500 per week more at Chesterfield than what we offered, he then got that increased by Chesterfield when we went up slightly. He will be on £2k+ a week god knows what Tishimanga got offered seeing as league clubs wanted him.

It really is silly season at this level, glad we’ve offloaded a few crappy high earners like Brundle. Very small squad for us this season compared to last and a smaller budget, will be making use of the loan market for sure.

I don’t think Tshimanga will be on anything mega. At the end of the day we didn’t have to outbid anyone contract wise because we were the only club that met his transfer release clause so was a one horse race in reality despite all the talk around him.

Fact it’s a 3 year deal will mean it probably has bonuses such as X % increase depending on his goals / promotions etc..

On the Khan thing, I highly highly doubt he is on north of £2k a week basic wage here. Under the new board and JR our contracts have been mainly bonus incentivised, with the basic wage being nothing extraordinary. Obviously the better we do, the more expensive it’s going to be for the club as a result of this… but it keeps things a lot cheaper if the players were to under perform rather than be lumbered with a hefty wage for a poor performing player(s). Smart way of working really

We’re throwing peanuts about compared to the big spending Wrexham and Stockports of this league… if only we could compete !!!:dk:

Would be a great underdog story if we actually go on and achieve anything this year all things considered!!!
You must be paying him peanuts

You'll be happy to hear I have Dagenham in 6th.

You'll be less happy to hear that in the last couple of seasons, I have got the majority of the positions wrong.
Hasn't everyone?
Considering no one knows naff all about most of the teams here, including our own!

Brundle has put in some concerning performances in pre season for us. We look weak at CM but pretty strong elsewhere.

I think I know more about everyone else’s teams more than my own with the amount of research this bloody blog needs to do it justice!

I suspect if the owners believe they've got the right man, they'll stick with them. They'll all know that with Notts, Stockport, Wrexham and Chesterfield that at least two of the Clubs are staying where they are and it'll be very competitive at the top. Only way a sacking will be a massive underachievement i.e. if they look like missing out on the PO's IMO.
I agree with you in so much as this is the sensible approach, but the spending that's been going on down here doesn't seem particularly sensible*. How quickly things can change from being the right man to not in football.

Plus, with threats across the whole division, there will be a fine margin between staying competitive for the title and slipping out the play-off places. That could happen in one week in March.

(*To Notts County fans, just to clarify, I'm unfairly grouping Burchnall with the others because of how big a club you are, I think your recruitment has been sensible.)

What’s delusional about that it makes perfect sense?

When I say ‘mega’ I’m talking Paul Mullin levels. What was it again, £9k a week?? Bet Madden’s not far off either :dk:

Aiming to publish Thursday 19th, 2 days before the start of the season. It's about half way there at the moment. Every time I think I have a club sussed they sign someone and make me rethink the way they're going to play!

He needs to be played in the Lampard/Scholes position arriving in the box late to get goals any other midfield position you may as well have a statue playing as he simply can’t play in any other role.

He or his agent we’re playing games for about 3-4 weeks and we offered him a really good wage, we’re paying McCallum £3k a week so it won’t have been peanuts he left for more money simple as, we were not prepared to match it a rightly so one good half season at this level does not justify it. Most of our player were real pissed off with him as he told all them he was staying so they all signed, would not be surprised to see some one snap him in half come October.

I genuinely get confused that when you say ‘we’ is that Barnet or Maidenhead?

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Shots have re-signed the indolent Jacob Barkeley- Agepong from Dartford, having shifted him out pre- COVID. Waste of a shirt. Also now have Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain. Seems that’s it, barring loans ( hopefully), as team photo taken today.
This is a feeble squad under normal circumstances, but with the money floating around elsewhere this season, we will be cannon-fodder. Opening game - Chesterfield. Ha..

Indeed, 2 underwhelming signings today and by the sounds of it, that’s business done - very, very concerning. I’d bite your hand off for 20th place right now. Chesterfield are going to humiliate us next week.
