Vinagre is potentially brilliant. His technical abilty is way above Douglass but he got unlucky with the loan rule last year meaning he often missed out. Think he is one of them that will be better in the prem than the champ.

Been saying elsewhere that depth is the key. Am a Bonatini fan as you know, happy for him to be backup. I reckon a lot of our targets we want are too ambitious so make a good start and look to make more signings in Jan.

Completed the signing of versatile attacker David Brooks from Sheffield United. Various fees banded around but its someting like an initial 10m rising to 11, 12 or more depending on how it goes.

20 years old, plays in a few positions, room to develop, a typical Howe type of signing.

Going the other way - Max Gradel left the other day to Toulouse for 2m as the squad pruning continues.

Well there's two glaring issues for me; first he doesn't score enough (this probably can't be remedied) and second, the ability to dribble and take players on sometimes takes a hard hit when moving up a level. But he's a technically good footballer and could definitely surprise a few if he gets his chance and some confidence going.

At least we reinvested in a 29 year old free transfer from the Championship mate. There's positives to take from this.

Kenedy signed on loan this morning. Chelsea don't want him and have been asking us to buy him instead, but he's here, for now, at any rate.
