Anyway welcome to L2!

Truly we are blessed to be alive at a time to witness the fairy-tale miracle that is Forest Green Rovers and how a completely vegan run club can defy the odds and gain promotion to the football league. :bg:

You are every neutrals favourite now!

We're just lucky they don't call it the Milk Cup anymore.

Hi!

I must say that I was shocked to see the bitter comments across the internet from Grimsby fans of your promotion, is there some bad history between the two clubs? Grimsby is well known to be a fish eating town so did they not approve of your vegan policies or something?

You strangle one dad with a beachball and for some reason people take exception.

Plenty of ways around it unfortunately, Vince can sponsor a quorn burger and put as much money in to the club as he likes. All it does is stop owners from putting money in in the form of loans (which don't count towards turnover).

Doubt it - Quorn burgers are not usually vegan.

I have them in the CE with chips and salad, far better than mash, peas and gravy...very tasty they are too.

Maybe you've got bowel polyps or something. Quorn keeps me nice and regular. I've got plenty to share.

Quorn tastes much much better than it did when it first came onto the market. Better that than most of our meat which is produced by industrial style farming.

Quorn is definitely better for your health, and it can taste alright if done well. Tried a q pie once, it was alright same with the veggie burger needs a fair bit of chilli sauce though. Still prefer the real thing though, nothing beats a proper steak and chips or a nandos half chicken.

As I said before though there are enough places in Stroud/Nailsworth you can stop off at if you want a decent pie, burger, kebab or even a pub luch or sit down meal.

The NLP have never liked us, Sam Elliott in particular is an absolute c***. As is Alan Alger.

Glad we're out of there.

It's an interesting point about teams going full-time/pro. My club at Step 5 there have been/are teams paying £500-2k a week. Rediculous! Out of 22 teams in the MFL Premier at least 14 pay a wage.
Hereford were promoted (not as easily as they were at step 4) as they could afford decent wages on 2,800 gates, next season we have former Bromsgrove Rovers, Worcester City and it also looks like Ilkeston could drop to ours too if there money issues aren't resolved.
I will stop there as I have completely lost my point.

Didn;t know you were a veggie too Mowgli. Good man. Yep, I don't like quorn either but anything that is meant as a substitute for meat can only be a good idea.

What part of that article are you unhappy or disagree with?
It is all true and he actually praises Dale Vince for sticking around when others might not have, seems a fair article to me.

It's a totally true and fair article. A lot of the bitterness comes from clubs who've fallen into the National League are getting outdone by a club who haven't been in the EFL before.

The mozzarella burgers stink out the bottom of the oven when they drip. The standard veggie quarter pounders are less toxic. Go down well with mustard on.

They mainly tend to be an oversensitive, naive and precious lot on there. It's becoming increasingly cult like.

Doesn't change the fact that the NLP are biased and the likes of Elliott and Alger are utter twunts.

Sam told the truth whether you like it or not. He's a friend, a really nice bloke and definitely not a c**t.

As for Alger, is he still singing the praises of once bankrolled Crawley Town? The brown nosing when they won the Conference was unbelievable.

He's your friend? In that case of course you'd side with him and your opinion on him is invalid. And his constant digs at us over the years is not the "truth" it's one eyed bullshit. He's just a typical tabloid journalist controversial smug biased opinions presented as facts. Should work for the Sun. Our budget last year was no where near what people like him try and make out. Even after we get promoted he can't bring himself to say much positive. And that ridiculous article criticising us over the sacking of Pennock last year ahead of the play off final was equally uneducated and biased.

I believe he does when he gets the chance, still seems to like Evans as well. Tbf spends more time brown nosing the West Ham heirachy and slating Wenger these days though.
