Up to now, we have released Two in Bodvaarsson and Jerome. All loan players have returned with none re-signed.
Three have come through the door up to now, who have potential, but i see them as more back up.

Goalkeepers
1 Baxter/Southwood/Colman
2 Cogley/Jones/Matheson
3 Williams/
4 Toal/ Forrester
5 Santos/Forino
6 Johnston/Iredale
7Thomason/Morley
8 Sheehan/Dempsey
9 Collins/Lolos
10Charles/Adaboyejo
11Gomes/Nlundulu

Three of those will Miss the start of the season in Williams/Gomes/ Charles??
Lwb Iredale can play there. Again not ideal so a lwb needed, Gomes out until the new year and Charles rumoured to be out we are short in the final third.
Hopefully three or four of those moved on to free places in the squad
lwb, rwb 2 in Midfield and 2 more up front needed before the end of August with said 3/4 gone.

We’re looking pretty solid so far, but still a fair bit of business to do:

GK: Shaun McDonald and Harry Lee

Defenders: Pierce Sweeney, Will Aimson; Jack Fitzwater; Cheick Diabate; Ben Purrington; Ed James

Full backs/ wingbacks: Jack McMillan (new signing); Ilmari Niskanen; Caleb Watts; Vincent Harper

Midfielders: Reece Cole; Pedro Borges; Charlie Cummings

Attacking midfielders: Jack Aitchison; Demi Mitchell; Yanic Wildschut

Strikers; Josh Magennis (new signing); Millenic Alli; Sonny Cox

So we have well over 15 senior pros signed on and I reckon 6-8 to come in still. Midfield needs a lot of work and we also need a first choice’keeper. But otherwise it’s mainly adding depth.

Stockport County.
We change shape a lot and have a lot of multi-functional players so be hard to pin them down to positions. For example I'm really not sure where new signings Jay Mingi or Callum Connolly will actually play, it seems like they can both play anywhere in defence or midfield but I've pigeon holed them for the sake of this.

Goalkeepers: Ben Hinchliffe, Corey Addai, Max Metcalfe
Full Backs: Kyle Knoyle, Ryan Rydel, Callum Connolly, Ibou Touray, Macauley Southam-Hales (out until December at the earliest)
Centre Backs: Fraser Horsfall, Ethan Pye, Akil Wright
Midfielders: Lewis Bate, Will Collar, Nick Powell, Jay Mingi, Callum Camps, Odin Bailey
Wingers: Jayden Fevrier, Jack Diamond
Strikers: Tanto Olaofe, Kyle Wootton, Jack Stretton

Rumoured to be bringing in another midfield player which looks like it could possibly be Lewis Fiorini, another centre back with the latest rumour being a centre back from Burton Albion (Sam Hughes?) and a wide forward (Louie Barry has been linked all summer, everyone wants him back, not sure if it will happen, certainly not permanently).

Ryan Rydel and Jack Stretton had ACL injuries in September and July respectively so will fingers crossed be ready to hit pre-season running but that's unknown at the moment. Wouldn't be shocked to see Stretton get sent on loan towards the start of the season/end of August and that we may need another central striker, we look a bit light there with no obvious replacement for Madden.

GK - Arthur Okonkwo, Mark Howard, Luke McNicholas

RWB - Ryan Barnett, Luke Bolton, Anthony Forde
CB - Eoghan O'Connell, Max Cleworth, Tom O'connor, Will Boyle, Aaron James(youth)
LWB - James McLean, Jacob Mendy

CM - George Evans(Covers CB), James Jones, Andy Cannon,
CAM , Elliot Lee, Jordan Davies.

ST - Paul Mullin, Jack Marriott, Ollie Palmer, Steven Fletcher, Sam Dalby, Billy Waters, Jake Bickerstaff.

Bickerstaff, Waters won't be here long, Can see Dalby getting a loan move.

Still a few CBs, CM, ST short.
Probably a LWB as McLean has been used as a CM and Mendy is injury prone. Davies won't be good enough for this league either.

Feels like a number of teams have done the majority of their business but we haven’t got the car engine going yet . Though Okonkwo is a cracking signing.

Probably looking at a minimum of 5 players to come in. Would just prefer the majority of them to come in before we go over for the tour.

if we work on 2 for each position it is only CBs we dont have a 1st and 2nd options

lots of players can play multiple positions which is handy.

three of the strikers will be gone come 1st September

As it stands, we're a senior squad of 16-18.

We don't have any senior full backs or wing backs but fairly well covered through the spine of the team, but Smith will probably depart, Erhahon is getting interest, we need to tidy up the fringe/youth players and Montsma is coming back from 16/17 months out injured so we're still a way off really.

What's going on at Lincoln? Has Jez been fudging the numbers again?

I see you had a big loss on your last accounts and players not agreeing new deals. From the outside it would seem all is not well but I could be wrong.

We're in a pretty good place and Jez is well liked and has done a good job. Sorensen didn't sign as he outgrew our wage structure and Mandriou and Bishop who turned down new deals to be fair probably didn't reflect the output we got from them. We have some decent assets in the squad for the first time really in L1 - Erhahon for example is a 7 figure asset with time on his contract. The losses are a worry but underwritten by a board who put money via shares rather than loans. We've had a recent new board member join from the states. We were also very close to the play offs for a second time in 4 years.

Mandriou is a player we’ve been linked with and I wouldn’t be surprised if we hadn’t looked at Bishop too as we tried to sign him when he left Ipswich.

Same as last year but with considerably less players.

(13 less to be exact)

...but some of our youth players are a year older so is it all bad?...

We released 7 and had 6 loanees leave. We offered contracts to 3 players out of contract....Sinclair signed, Rossiter has left and nothing about Hoole (most likely gone as we've signed a replacement).

Have signed 7....RB Joel Senior from Morecombe, CBs Taylor Moore a free agent and Dan Ellison from Chippenham, LBs Clinton Mola from Reading and Bryant Bilongo from Middlesborough, CM Issac Hutchinson from Walsall and Striker Ruel Sotirou.

That gives us a senior squad of 19 including 1 GK....so room for 4 more senior outfield players and another GK.

Hopefully going to keep Evans....he returned to training yesterday. If he doesn't sign his extension then he'll be sold either now or at a reduced price in January. Think he won't sign and end up running down his contract. Upside he's a good pro and we'll have a brilliant player for another season but downside an asset has gone for nothing.

We need a GK to compete with our own England U20 GK Ward.

Defence is sorted unless we move out RB Hunt, CBs Wilson and Connolly and replace.

We need 1 more body in CM and are sorted unless we move out CM McCormack and replace.

We need a winger of some sort as currently only have Thomas and Sinclair.

The big need is 2 strikers....currently have Martin and Sotirou.

Think Taylor wants most of our squad to be our own players and use loans just to fill in gaps and add the icing on the cake to a solid hard working squad.

So have had a good start to the window and moving in the right direction but still got to get a few more bodies in!

Jez and the whole board have been doing a great job and the people at the top have good business sense and work ethic. It’s a far cry to the haphazard way things used to be, under Clive Nates we are a very well run and the club are one of the more stable in our league.

Players not agreeing deals could easily be down to the value the club think they are worth rather than what the players think they are worth! No-one is bigger than the club and it was said recently that the wage structure would not be broken for anyone. I think Teddy and Mandriou were always likely to be unsure of a deal, we have moved on by already signing three midfielders and it will be interesting to see which division Danny and Ted end up playing in. Hoping Ethan Erhahon will stay but if he goes it would be for mega bucks.

Looks like Rob Street may be announced today, would personally like one more winger/forward with added pace then it’s full back/wing back attention and maybe a centre half with the odd fringe player leaving, then we won’t be far off being done I would imagine.

As others have said, it's probably the opposite and we're as well placed as we've ever been in L1 both on and off the pitch. Obviously not to the point we're suddenly going to win the league or fighting for automatics, mind!

We only had 3 senior players out of contract we offered new deals to - Bishop, Mandroiu and Montsma.

Neither Bishop and Mandroiu were ever likely to sign new deals, I think they both wanted to move on and I don't think we'd have pushed too hard to keep them. Bishop was on a 2021 contract, which was where we loosened the purse strings a bit off the back of reaching the PO's but we didn't get the availability or output from him over the three years he's been here. Likewise Mandroiu, who's numbers were basically condensed into the first few games of the season and probably didn't hit the heights we thought he would (he was also one of our highest earners). The Club said very early on that financially neither deal would probably work for us and whether that's down to contract demands and/or what value we placed on them we don't know. Not to say either signing was terrible because they weren't, they're not bad players at all.

Still plenty to do from a squad building point of view but we do have some very saleable assets in Roughan, House, Moylan, Erhahon, Draper and Jensen (who it looks like we've decided not to cash in on and see his value on the pitch for us next season, a bit like we did with Poole this time last year when he went to Portsmouth on a free). Sorenson was another one but we've sold for £400k-£500k to Huddersfield.

We've just opened the new £2.6m Hub behind the away end as well, which will apparently bring new catering and toilet areas for away fans.
