I don't like Valverde as world champion.

There, I've said it.

This year I am mostly excited about Remco Evenepoel.

PDC game opens on Friday. Woop.

Last year's table. Purely for reference. And nothing else, obvs.

I've done a team again for both the women's and the men's. Still not thought of a better name than Lanternes Rouges so gone with that again. It's quite fitting for my team though, I suppose.

Reports that Oleg Tinkov is planning to takeover Timperley Bib Shorts have been greatly exaggerated.

No such thing as suspicious these days. Just “administration errors”. And Austrians.

I don't usually like Amstel Gold that much but both men's and women's races yesterday were superb. Didn't watch the men's one live and just caught up with it on Eurosport player. Even with 400m left, it still looked impossible that MVDP could win.

It was heading for a pretty dull day tbh if Alaphilippe and Fuglsang had held their lead as they should have done. They were completely amateurish the way they eased up in fear of each other. Even so, the fact it looked a foregone conclusion till the last 500m was what made it so good and to bring that gap back was still monstrous. Was off my seat just seeing Kwiato catch them, then completely mental when VDP appeared.

One of my favourite bits was Simon Clarke and just how happy he was to get second, clearly very grateful to VDP for dragging him there.

Van der Poel though is just absolutely insane. I cannot wait for Yorkshire world champs if he’s going to be there.

Which days are you planning to be at the World's for? Are you staying somewhere round Harrogate?

I can't say I'm not delighted about your hero Dumoulin losing 4 minutes today TimeyWimey

Great work on the fantos by the way, you're absolutely running away with it... I'm all the way down in 22nd now.

It's a complete travesty, whilst Nibali is still within acupuncture range of winning. I actually think Yates will leave them all for dead in the mountains anyway and could probably win every stage in the last 10 days. Mitchelton are definitely bonkers enough to try that too. Roglic surely peaked too soon.

Buzzing about VDS team. I'm in no ways obsessed... but I worked out as long as Adam Yates has a good Tour and Van der Poel enters the worlds, I should stay up there. I'm kinda bemused Alaphilippe wasn't the first name in everyone's team but let's not dwell on it.

Few of weeks late but I've no idea about the world's. More than likely travel there or part of the route for some/all of the days. Definitely intrigued by this team relay.

Nice. Handily, I've got a brother-in-law who lives in Harrogate so gonna stay there from the Thursday night until the Sunday.

Aug/Sept is going to be epic.

Tour of Britain have decided to honour the current VDS leaders with a home stage for the final stage. Just a week before the World Champs start. Plus, I'll pop over to Spain for a few stages of the Vuelta a couple of weeks beforehand.

Now. Come on you Landa! (and Hugh.)

I'm away for the weekend when the ToB finishes in Manchester :mad::mad:

Terrible decision. Such a good stage. Start in Altrincham, hop on tram to the finish whilst they tour the riff-raff of Manchester. Gotta love Chris Boardman.

Talk is that MVDP is riding ToB too. I’m guessing with the World Champs it’ll be a pretty impressive start list.

Reported compound fracture of femur, plus fractures of hip and elbow. Absolutely shocking and very, very serious. He's very "lucky" it happened with full medical support on course. Hopefully he'll be back but it's a long road from here.

In Intensive care too so won't be on a bike for a while - never mind competing.
