Word from club journalists suggest that any Doyle replacement would be through the loan market in the next week.

To make that 750k not embarrassing, we'd have to capture some lad for 150/200k who'd bang them in at League One level. And I can't even think of anyone close.

We've had ineligible player fuck ups, ticket fuck ups, and now the club have set themselves up for failure here.

By all means, if we end up signing a gem on the cheap, i'll send an apology on golden fricking parchment - But I can't see it.

I reckon you'll get someone like Leon Clarke in on loan.

Didnt Doyle play as more of a LF though?

Apparently 400k now, 450k over a year, 15% sell on and more when Cardiff get promoted to Prem ROFL ....

Now where's that relegation thread ....

I do feel for Chesterfield, this feels like Fox and Dann for us in 07. Sold for a combined £1.5m at about 11pm on deadline day, ended any hope we had of promotion (We were 4th in league 1 at that point, having just been promoted previously from league 2) and Bonser used all of the money to recoup the overspending we did in the Championship for years before. We finished 14th, Richard Money was given no money to replace anyone and he resigned in March of that season.

(Looking back £1.5m isn't bad for 2 defenders, even though they were worth more combined - look at what Dann has done since).

Club are reporting an 'undisclosed seven figure sum'. I guess we'll never know for sure, but it's most of our goals we've got to replace now...

It's a seven figure fee in total i'm reading. I'd have preferred more, in fact i'd preferred him to stay, but it's a club record surely.

Nice of the Blunts to underwrite Cardiff anyway. Poetic justice indeed, Mr Clough.

7 figures after the add-ons probably. Sky rarely report transfer fees unless they're accurate.

now being linked with Matty Done....so basically we're going to get linked to every striker today and we wont sign one of them is my guess. Davies of Blackpool also mentioned.

I can't really see where we will score now. Roberts might chip in with a few, as might Clucas. Ryan might get the odd one, and our remaining 2 strikers might be good for 5 or so... Doyle was like 50-60% of our goals, and without them, I don't know where we'll fall to...

Kevin Davies is making a triumphant return.

we play players all over the place sometimes so position means nowt, we've even played Magahey (CB) upfront a couple of times let on in games. Either way I'm not sure he's someone id want, think we were linked with him in the summer

If you read the Port Vale article it says they'd agreed to release him if he got a better offer and he's going abroad.

How many keepers have Orient gone through this year? haha.

Not that many to be fair. Started with Legzdins, but he isn't very good, then when he got injured Woods came in and he was a little bit better, but still prone to the occasional shocker. We quite desperately needed a new goalkeeper, and hopefully it also means we can loan out young Charlie Grainger.

Go to 18 seconds and you'll see one of the worst goals a goalkeeper can concede.

Bryon is definitely going to keep us up there with a similar goal ratio.

Then we'll sell him at the end of the season for 50k and a bag of peanuts.

Jack Redshaw is someone I'd want us to take a risk on if we had 750k dropping into the coffers.
