The 2 that go up will be any 2 from Stockport Wrexham Chesterfield and Notts County.
All the others including us, no chance.
You're forgotten here already, chuck. Remind us who "us" are again? :ds:

Would be great for us too as it makes next season a lot easier for the rest of us.

Well location for me, you know :cool1:

Obviously it would then keep several other teams down there another season to play the likes of footballing giants such wealdstone, kings lynn and maidstone

Nobody cares what you think Chris. Let me remind you again, NOBODY thinks your Mickey Mouse club belongs here, NOBODY thinks you earned the RIGHT to be here, NOBODY respects you. :ds:
Yet Forest Green average more at home than you and have played in the football league.

Its pretty clear which club is more relevant

I’d like Halifax to come up both for reasons of geography and football history; always had a soft spot for them.

However in the real world Forest Green Rovers are a fully established FL club now and doing well.

No they're not. With the money being chucked in they should be in the Championship by now. Take away the tens of millions poured down their toilet in the past 13 years and they're still the pub team they were in 2008. They will NEVER belong in the Football League. :bdick:

I wouldn't get too snitty chuck, history shows those clubs who have already dropped out of the League once, are highly likely do do it again, and before too long. I reckon you're already overdue. :fl:

If Halifax go up this year would they be the quickest team ever to make the FL? As in from club formation to promotion.

They'd have done it in 13 years and AFC Wimbledon did it in 14 years I believe.

We were taken over end of 2010, not 2008. Vince only really started investing in the playing squad in 2011.

We probably aren’t the only club to spend beyond our natural means in the football league tbf.

Majority of clubs require funding from the owners in the EFL.

Even those fanbases that think they are self-sufficient, the accounts usually tell a different story.

The accounts will be hiding fat sums on infrastructure and disguising some of DV's money as sponsorship I think but given that he's actually got them looking fairly sustainable these past few seasons, he always claimed the TV money and so on would make it more a viable concern in the FL and we're not buying the same sort of silly big name players for the level any more. So not genuinely sustainable but not a complete basket case I reckon.

Rushden and Diamonds, founded by merger 1992, in the league 2001.

Big if, but if Boston hadn't cheated the following year, Dagenham and Redbridge (also founded 1992) would have been next, as they should have been promoted to the league in 2002.

So New Halifax would probably be second as things stand, if they were to go up at the end of this season

I’m sorry, halifax don’t even appear on a radar of relevance to mansfield.

I would take Halifax coming up, like the ground and it’s not far.

I remember playing them in the FA Cup and it brought out all their mob  Think they were Conf North so it was probably only a qualifier too, big day that.

Yeah they had lads in ski masks coming out in the pubs and the police had to hold some of their fans back, we won 1-0 i believe.

It’s like the place that time forgot that place, i’d take them coming up over county or chesterfield obviously

Genuine Halifax supporters have two huge crosses to bear:
[1] B2TF
[2] Their team have already lost before the first whistle.
I've been at games where the referee has been loudly booed even before start of game and given grief throughout the 90 minutes of play. Obviously they are always going to lose the 50/50 decisions. Referees are only human.

But there's nowt to worry about. If, and that's a big if, Halifax win promotion you won't be sharing the same forum with B2TF as FGR will be in League 1 next season

Well, hopefully, but it's a bit premature to rule out our traditional second-half-of-season slump. I think (presuming none of our key players get poached), we should avoid it - the team spirit is so strong now, and they are working harmoniously together in a way that couldn't have happened under Cooper, but you never know... I mean, the only game we've really messed up was the FA Cup one against St Albans, and I think that was mostly because of odd managerial choices - team selection, and putting on the wrong subs. So far, otherwise, the teams that have beaten us have simply played better than us, without any doubt. Fingers crossed, though....

Hopefully for us it's a moot point and we are in L1 next season but if not then fingers crossed its Notts County who come back up as champs and Torquay go on a big run and gatecrash the playoffs.

I must admit from a selfish POV whereas i’ve got absolutely nothing against hartlepool i certainly wanted torquay up from the playoff final last season purely for that.

Wimbledon did it in 9 years. Restarted after MK Dons were given Wimbledon FCs league place in 2002 (the same year the now defunct Halifax Town AFC became the only club to be relegated twice from the Football League under 1 up-1 down).

Wimbledon restarted in the Combined Counties League, the 5th level of the Non-League pyramid (one level lower than FC Halifax Town were allowed to start their first ever season in 2008), and won the Conference playoffs and thus promotion to the Football League in 2011.

Most importantly they lost their first ever match 4-0 against Sutton. South London is Amber.

For some reason I thought Wimbledon got promoted in 2016 but that was to L1 not L2 so yeah don't think anyone will beat that
