Chesterfield, who are in prime position for auto return to the EFL, would obviously bring big crowds and terrific atmosphere to the EFL.
The same as Notts Co & Wrexham. Both these clubs are within reasonable distance of TNL so they would be my choices for promotion.
But as had been pointed out elsewhere, FGR are in pole position for promotion so my opinion can only be considered academic.

Surprised to see how low Halifax are in the attendance league at present.

Their average is below 2000 if you take off away fans too as Wrexham had 1200 there bumping Halifax’s average up.

Grimsby is another team I'd love back in the EFL.
Always a good crowd who are utterly passionate and knowledgeable. [They always let the ref know if he has made an error]

Christ I thought Grimsby were flying off at the top and hadn’t looked for a few weeks! Huge change there.

Wouldn’t mind Notts Co back, not as keen on Wrexham and Stockport who have thrown money at it.

Is a crazy league mind.

We were 4 points clear at the top in October and since then we’ve lost 6 of our next 7 games, all by a single goal.

No they're not. With the money being chucked in they should be in the Championship by now. Take away the tens of millions poured down their toilet in the past 13 years and they're still the pub team they were in 2008. They will NEVER belong in the Football League. :bdick:

FGR were a pretty established 5th tier club before Dale Vince came along, admittedly with a couple of lucky escapes from relegation to the 6th tier. Halifax pre-phoenix I see as one of those teams like Macclesfield and Barnet who yo-yo between the 4th and 5th tiers but never really establish themselves as a league team so there's not really much between Halifax and FGR in terms of size and history I'd wager.

The whiff of unwashed Billy-big-bollox wafting out of Calderdale seems a tad unwarranted but I suppose for a lot of these traditional 5th tier outfits, it's the faux-big-time attitude that sustains them.

Yeah it’s a really tough league, it’s nearly as strong as the season we won it, which is saying something.

It’ll be interesting how it pans out, the best thing to do for me is get knocked out of the fa trophy as soon as possible, it’s a ridiculous trophy, it makes the pizza cup look like the champions league

Chesterfield can stay down for a while guys, the only thing they bring to the EFL is insecurities having to deal with their superior rivals.

Truth is Halifax and a few others like Aldershot etc have never been well supported clubs. Even before the changes to the league pyramid in 1986/87 when re-election was scrapped, these sort of clubs were getting gates of circa 1000-1200 while the big names in non league were easily getting twice that number.

It was back in 1999 that I saw Halifax's poor support for myself. We were top of the 4th at the time and the Shaymen were just outside the play offs and they only had some 250 fans at the Abbey on what was a fine day so they couldn't blame the weather for the low following. Bear in mind they had pissed the conference the year before with a certain Geoff Horsfield scoring a shedload of goals in the process and they were still on a high.

But tbf, this season Halifax are short on derbies/localish games to boost their home crowds. Wrexham don't count because they take hundreds everywhere. Not the same could be said for the clubs just above Halifax in the attendance table.

That Boreham Wood one must be off surely. Admittedly I don’t really pay much attention to the ins and outs of the league below but how the fuck is that sustainable for them to be able to run a fully professional (I assume) outfit on those numbers?

Please explain ??!!

Halifax makes mansfield look a thriving metropolis (which is quite an achievement) it’s a complete and utter hole with folk stuck in the 60s you’d not want to spend any longer there than necesssary

Don't they have an owner who's willing to pay whatever it takes? Don't think they have a sugar-daddy but someone rich enough to not care about financial sustainability.

Boreham Wood's backer is probably wealthy and fairly sure Arsenal's women's or reserve sides play there so they'll get a shed load of money from that.

Leigh RMI once finished 5th in the Conference with an average attendance of only around 300. Ourselves (and one or two other clubs in the division in 04/05) had even lowest home attendances that were greater than Leigh's total attendance across the entire season.

If you've ever met a Borehamwood fan then you'll probably be relieved to hear there's only 800 or so of them in the world.

it’s one of those places where most would need to look up to know where it is.

It sounds like something from a childhood story. On my first visit (an eye-numbingly dull 0-0) I half expected the catering hut to be manned by a family of friendly and magical badgers.

Played at Hilton Park, which seemed pretty empty when we played them there.

Bet you boys helped out massively with the attendance  ;)

Tbf without us there would have been virtually no one there. Oh.

They used to have 1 fan that travelled to all their away games, called Howard I think. Was sometimes literally their only fan at some of the longer trips. Fair play to him.
