In the gents' in our South Stand (which was the away end in National League days), there's still a bit of graffiti that reads "I'd rather be a vegan than a scouse": I've long presumed the finger of suspicion pointed firmly towards that bit of North Wales not that far from the Wirral.
I don't know, quite a few Tranmere fans would share that sentiment :)

And despite our equaliser being very late Halifax were very lucky to escape with a draw today, if we could actually finish they’d have been buried well before then.
Incidentally I was in Cleethorpes this afternoon with my niece, busy all over the place which was nice to see and excellent pie and chips on the pier as always. However that does mean I’ve come closer to going to a Halifax away game than that B2TF weirdo.

He is the sole reason why I'd be happy for Halifax to remain in non-league for at least another decade.
The club is decently situated with local pubs selling Yorkshire beer [best in the world].
Pity they have a nutter as chief spokesman.

He still pretends to go to away games all the time too, very sad individual.

What’s going on with you lot?

Ever since you were top of the conference and we were near the relegation my old friend lew commented how nice it was we were struggling.

Since then you’ve fallen to 10th and we’ve won 10 out of 11. you really must thank lew if you know the person.

A good friend supports Wrexham but my worry shared by many Newport supporters is to do with broadcasting politics.

Historically we haven't always had a fair deal from BBC Wales - going way back to the legal dispute with the FAW they were part of the nationalist conspiracy. If Wrexham get promoted back to the EFL the fear is Cardiff will get all the attention in the southeast with Swansea in the southwest and Wrexham in the north and we'll miss out. While we're in a higher league than Wrexham they can't do that.

Yes we have had a lot of attention in the last few years but stemming from achievements on the field.

I’d disagree with this in terms of the place. Only been to Mansfield once for a football match so can’t assess it’s merits. Halifax is one of the nicer Yorkshire towns with a football team. The town is relatively compact set in a valley with good scenery, the historic Piece Hall, a decent theatre and some good pubs including The Three Pigeons, close to the ground and which BITDHSS is a fan of~I’ve not been yet. If we were purely going on geography Halifax is the best choice to come up, though don’t mind Nottingham.
I`ve only been to Halifax once and that was the season we went back into the League. It was the last away game of the season. Really had a great time. Nice town, friendly locals, lots of good pubs, including the Three Pigeons which served excellent pies if I remember rightly, and a decent stadium (except for one stand which looked like it had seen better days). I even got to stand on, for this day and age, quite a large terrace. Top away day IMO and I`d certainly go again given the chance. At least I didn`t have to keep looking over my shoulder after the game to make sure somebody wasn`t coming up behind me with a brick, unlike at Wrexham who really are supported by some of the dregs of society who still think it`s the 70`s

I always want the ex FL clubs to bounce back and come up from the connie but not this season. Halifax I have a soft spot for so I'd like to see them make it and also Grimsby because they're a passionate lot them Mariners but Wrexham, Stockport and Chesterfield can stay down there. It would be funny to see all that dosh they're splashing about be all for nowt. I thought it great last year when in the midst of the pandemic the big clubs voted to carry on only for Sutton to beat them to it and win promotion

Then there's also the way their fans go on about the connie being of a higher calibre than L2 which is just plain ridiculous. If that were so then Gary Johnson the Torquay manager wouldn't have said what he said about the big Championship/L1 sides refusing to loan out their kids/ressies to the connie clubs.

Someone still upset about Paul Mullin joining Wrexham?

Not all mate. He wasn't our player and he was free to sign for whoever was willing to meet his wage demands. Speaking of Mullin, I hear from a reliable source that he's badly missing FL footy and he'll only stay at Wrexham if they go up this year.

It wouldn't be that bad if one out of Wrexham, Chesterfield and Stockport do come up but I would be slightly concerned if two make it because that would only encourage clubs to spend more money in order to go up in the future and some (most?) clubs can ill afford to do that.

It's nothing personal :)

We spent big money on one player in the summer and so far it’s proven to be the best piece of business in the National League given he’s the top goal scorer in the league by some way and contributed heavily to us being top atm. He’s probably tripled his valuation already… the rest of our squad actually cost less to assemble and costs us less weekly than any squad we’ve had since we’ve been in the conference!! We had some shite on the books from our FL days that took a while for us to move on but we’ve finally got there.

Wrexham and Stockport have spent significantly more than us and will continue to do so, especially Wrexham… they’re not going to be hanging about in January.

FWIW, I also think Wrexham and Stockport have spent much more than you and that's why I'd rather you come up than the other two. And having bona fide supporters for owners helps as well unlike those two comedians at Wrexham. Good luck for the rest of the season.
