Wasn't the best of games Salford very good at the dark arts but I'm glad we managed to snatch a winner poxy club with a wanker as a manager who said we celebrated like we'd won the world Cup when we scored the winner guess what dickhead we probably did because we have something to play for unlike your poxy little tinpot pet project. It's shame they can't be relegated it really is.

I went through the pre-season predictions thread hoping to find Adam’s putting Mansfield in first place but he seemingly didn’t do one.

All other Mansfield fans had put them in the top three and they were 6th in the table Forza did which worked out the average of all the predictions.

Unsurprisingly Salford and Bradford were the two teams who were heavily backed and have ended up closer to the relegation zone than the top three.
I believe that our average position in that table was 10th too. :eye:

You guys were all convincing us what an amazing summer transfer window you’d had and how improved the squad was.
Yep, I put them 7th as I believed them. Had Notts 5th too but didn't account for Williams leaving them.

Well that was horrendous. That 1st half was reminiscent of the Artell relegation season. Individual mistakes, couldn't get out of our own half for large periods and just looked shot of all confidence. FGR could and probably should have been further ahead. Why on earth we went with what was basically a 442 with basically two kids in centre midfield one of which is a more of a winger/forward, it was always asking for trouble. Like at MK Lee Bell got things massively tactically wrong. He obviously though lt we would dominate no matter what and had as many attacking minded players outbthere as possible and its backfired at him. The other thing is I underestimated exactly how much we would miss our captain Offord. Since he's been injured we look so much easier to play against, he was a revelation in that deep midfield role at breaking up play and starting off attacks, some thing we massively need now as Demetriou looks so exposed without Offord.

2nd half we rallied and hammered FGR, probably could and should have scored atleast 3 ourselves, but it's irrelevant really, because after going 3 down in the 1st half at home to the bottom club we deserve nothing, and all credit to Forest Green as bad as we were in that 1st half they played some nice stuff. Thought particularly the centre mid McCann??? Looked a very decent player. Then 2nd half as much as we dominated, again they managed to keep the ball out of the net, something we certainly couldn't do in the 1st half.

So glad you won, they're a disgusting team to watch, play against .
Got away with it against us with our charity defending.

He's unsurprisingly gone very quiet on the subject.

Will try one more time..... Hey Adam wooo hooo, over here. What were your expectations in terms of league finish for your beloved Mansfield Town when this season kicked off?

The main takeaway from that thread is that we all got a bit carried away with Notts County, amd that Grimsby and Bradford. have massively underachiever based on pre-season expectations.

I can only think the Grimsby fans are used car salesmen so effective was their convincing. In hindsight any team whose marquee signing is Rekeil Pyke is not getting promotion.

He bases his every waking opinion on what bookmakers say or said at the time. Surely he's made that clear enough by now?

Certainly a positive day results wise for us yesterday, strange how one game day can have results go so against you and then the next for you, such is football!

Given the injuries we’ve got currently (a fair few from the wrexham game) the postponement wasn’t the end of the world but then adds in another tuesday night game at the end of the season, hopefully we’ve got more back for then.

Need to do a lot of work in the summer in the pitch though, it’s a bit of an embarrassment all round and we’ve had the same issue for some while now. Will be interesting how it holds up with 2 games in 4 days against inform crawley and FG

Talking of exaggerations :ffs:

Given up on Shy Guy Adam instead I'm counting down the days until Richard claims once again that Mansfield will never play Notts again once they get promoted :thumbs:Remember that doozy?

Stockport County.
Big win for us that yesterday. Thought Wimbledon were very well organised, draw probably would have been fair. Great and late goal to win it though, the kind that give you the "we might just be going up here" feeling. Particularly when we got out the ground and saw Notts' late equaliser against MK Dons.

Still could be plenty of twists and turns both at the top and the bottom.

Easier said than done when not you but yeah i think that’s a big weekend for stockport given others results.

The magic number currently is 85, though this will of course drop if/when barrow/mk drop points, for both stockport and mansfield it’s virtually a point less due to our GD.

that leaves you needing in effect 7 points and us/wrexham 11 - our 2 games in hand on MK are at home to FG and accrington.

How tinpot of Mansfield to have a match called off in April and they are wanting to be in L1?

Small fish out of its depth.

Cloughie's played another trick from his dark arts book. Distatesful stuff but sometimes you've just got to do what you've got to do. I just hope he payed the hose pipe bill himself and didn't let the Radford's foot the bill. They've forked out enough already for his luxury squad of ex Championship stalwarts.

We pipe it up from the dam on quarry lane, it’s free that way and the money can be spent elsewhere. :P1:

There’s a video going around of him and his nasty bald assistant walking over the road during the night and emptying buckets of water from the Quarry Lane damn onto problem areas of the pitch.

Get well soon Will Swan x

So you went to the predictions thread hoping for one thing and came out with proving Adam right? Most fans had us in a battle for the play offs rather than top 3.

As you’ve been there and done that who were the expected top three from that thread?

Someone actually spent all that time trying (and failing) to prove me wrong

I can’t work out if that’s cute or really tragically sad.

Standard away performance so far, poor.

1-0 Donny half time. Neither team really made anything. Good cross and header for the goal but Arthur seemed to pull put the trying to save it don't knownif he thought it was going wide or was scared of hitting the post.
Can't see us getting anything here
