Not sure I follow. West ham can't play at home so they are giving the club they play money as if it had taken place at west hams ground and then you get a decent home draw on top. It's not 100% of home gate receipts as I understand it.
We can't play at home until the new pitch is finished for the Chesterfield league game on 26th. If we draw West Ham neither club will be able to host the fixture w/c 21 August. Maybe it could be put back a week, then rearrange the tinpot cup game v Tofu Town.

Lost to a 95th Minute screamer at Barnsley, gutted. To be fair it could have been a cricket score, mental game.

Big shoutout to Vadaine Oliver aswell, he's been superb in these first 2 games.

Are we allowed claims on "the new Rakish Bingham" yet?
Paul Mullin has started well for us also. 2 in 2. Seems to wind defenders up and work his bollocks off which has gone down well with our fans.

We hardly ever have matches postponed/abandoned. I live down South, so I don't know how bad it was but it must have been terrible conditions for it to be called off. Our pitch is probably one of the best in the division.

It was awful. I doubt (outside of The Premiership) that most pitches in the league wouldn't have been able to cope with that amount of rain. It was raining non-stop all day until about 3pm when it cleared and began to dry up but then it started again about 6.30 and was torrential for the rest of the evening.

I sat in my car for over half an hour waiting for it to ease of before I gave up and got drenched walking to the game. At the start of the game the pitch wasn't too bad but with the amount of rain that fell it began to get stupid with the ball holding up when being passed and challenges becoming quite dangerous. Absolutely the correct decision to abandon the game. I thought it may have been called off before the kick-off with the forecast for rain all evening. I then got drenched again walking back to the car.

As you say, very unusual for us to have a game abandoned like that as our pitch is usually very, very good and one of the best in the league.

Was a big fan of his but he barely got a chance until the end of last season. He'll scores goals and hopefully does score a hatful for you, just please not against us. Nice lad too.

Any idea how Oxford got on against the L2 whipping boys?

I heard there was a bit flooding in parts of town, or something too? Not too bad, I hope.

You might be able to correct me, but the only time I ever remember a game being called off (that had already kicked off) at BP in the last 27 years or so that I've been following Town was a televised match against Sunderland back in the 90s when we were in the second tier?

Can't speak for any abandonment because of the rain but our match against Rushden & Diamonds in 2011 was called off due to fog, couldn't see the half way line from the Pontoon, they'd scored twice and nobody had a clue.

In some ways last night was the perfect result. Didn't get a dicking, played pretty well and no injuries. Confidence must be high at the moment.

And all that without 4 of what will be our main players.

There was the Rushden game which Clarky mentioned but that's the only other time I can remember. The funny thing about that game though is when you got outside the ground it was pretty clear. Justin Edinburgh is still fuming about the decision to call it off I reckon.

Yeah, massive puddles/lakes around the Town this morning and the underpass by Asda was closed for a time as it had flooded. Been raining all morning too and had only just stopped in the last half hour.

As usual I'd love Newcastle away (home wouldn't be too bad). Hopefully avoid someone like Ipswich away.

Ah OK, I looked it up and read it as being 100% of home game reciepts. Nothing I've searched for just now gives any indication as to exactly how much compensation West Ham will pay.

Seriously? You're suggesting Vadaine Oliver is the new Rakish Bingham? Have you lost your mind?

Good more bothered about the league games. Yes it's good if you progress and win games but getting promoted is what everybody wants so pope being on the bench montano and Wilson left out the squad and making sure there fit for Saturday is more important.

Expecting a beating tonight, but we don't need this competition. I just hope we don't pick up any injuries ahead of Saturday.
