Well done Rochdale.
A nice touch and a little ray of light in what is a dreadfully sad story.

Out attendance at Leicester has now been updated (from the LCFC match report apparently)
839, including 231 Walsall fans, I'm ashamed to say

We're probably going to win this fecking thing, as well as getting relegated!
There was an awful point where we were losing and set to still go through because you were beating Exeter. It's a small sliver of consolation not to have a Swindon win that made us play another game in this terrible Pot.

They'll spin this. They'll point out that since the highest attendance of the night was at Chelsea, that's proof that this competition needs the under 21 sides. Also, I can see Norwich winning the whole thing, they've battered everyone so far. That would be another piece of 'evidence' they'd use to show it's been a success.

Dicks.

Genuinely gutted at both the attendance and the team we put out. I have no idea who falls for this stuff.

Overall, the U21 teams have been useless - not many qualified.

Agree about Norwich

Our first goal from last night was scored by 17 year old Darren Oldaker, and was a bloody screamer. He also scored against Luton. So in that respect, this competition has helped young talent at English clubs, just not the ones Shaun Harvey expected.

A small enough crowd.at Hartlepool for it to be announced at HT.

380 in total, 30 from Dale.

597 at Grimsby including 197 away fans. That's the lowest away following by us as far back as I can remember. Good stuff by grimsby too.

Nah. Buggrit. We're in it to win it.

Final against Norwich's brats will do; suitable revenge opportunity for 55 years ago when they beat us in the final of another cup competition which Man U, Liverpool and several others refused to enter....:-)

At least you now know that Wes Thomas can't take penalties, 3 taken in this competition and all missed!

Super Lukey Norris finally got off the mark, that's probably the only positive I can glean from this nonsense! I was discussing what would happen if we got to the final and how many would go, he said 15k, I though nearer 10k. In all honesty I have no idea but it may appeal to the families and day-trippers.

Sounds like an ideal candidate to take the next one in this tournament then.

Only Premier League youngsters count in Harvey's world. Stop trying to bring through your own youth, go and drop them off at your nearest big club.

Seeing as this competition this season is the the most irrelevant thing going, it doesn't really matter who we've got (and of course losing to) in the next round.

But Rochdale away again FFS. How many times now is that in the last 3 or 4 years.

City fined £3k for subbing Doyle off after 3 minutes, as even though we didn't break the rules, we went agains the spirit of the rules of the laughing stock trophy.

At least we know why Slade was sacked, Roland must have been furious with him for costing him £3k.

Surely you can fight that one!

Aside from this why can't L1 or L2 teams not opt out of competing in it?

We can appeal it but a lot of people saying they're happy refusing to pay and getting chucked out. I'd imagine the club will do the former.

These fines are an absolute joke and I hope not one team pays them.

The entire process is epitomised by L2 Luton being fined for fielding loads of their academy produced youngsters to give them first team experience against L1 Gillingham even though they won the game

Also, makes me laugh how PL and Championship clubs are fine to make however many changes they like in the League Cup, a major national competition with a European place at stake, and yet the 'little' clubs are not allowed to blood youngsters in a tournament that not one person in this country gives a fuck about
