We bloody won.......we beat the mighty Derby County 1-0.

Anyone care?

Anyone at all?

Thought not. Fucking disgrace of a competition but glad to see most of the academy teams being beaten.

I'd also be interested to hear what the powers that be thought of all of the foreign players these academy sides fielded considering one of their big arguments is that this will be good for the development of English youngsters

Piss poor effort on the lack of attendances from the majority of fans, only the 3 figures get any credit. Southend couldn't even manage their lowest ever crowd for a 'competitive' fixture (945 v Cambridge back in the 80's version of this trophy) playing sodding Brighton U23.
I'm even more disappointed with the away fans turning up, I was one of just 21 at the Vetch back in 2003 when this competition meant something.

The thing is you go on club forums and some fans just don't understand what's going on and will go no matter who we play or what the competition is. You can't reason with them.

Wimbledon's win has been described on the BBC as a 'Premier League scalp':lol::lol:

Fair play to the clubs who got 3 figures tonight.

WE are going to mess it all up , we are away to the pox in the next round , we have only 250 tickets left of the away allocation !, not sure how many we were giving but i reckon we are taking over a thousand there, our allocation was 1204

1500 odd idiotic Posh fans there to watch us lose 6-1 to Norwich's youth team.

They deserve that loss for attending. Wankers.

I'd rather take a L1 scalp :-(

Still, a win's a win. Although I'm boycotting the trophy matches, I still want us to do well.

Out of curiosity, how many people would go to the final if you got there? Be hard to boycott that.

I'm afraid I would be one of them (who boycotts the final), its sort of why I hope two U23 teams get there though.

It probably helps I've done a JPT Final and trips to Wembley before though, I imagine for some that decision would be less easy if they'd not had the same experiences.

I couldn't do it. This competition has no validity. So for me the final would be worthless and meaningless. I kinda liked the old cup despite or perhaps because of its tinpot nature but no, this isn't something I can countenance.

That's the league game. We play Oxford at home in the group stage of this tournament.

It's true unfortunately. Maybe I'm being pessimistic but when the likes of Cov and Plymouth are expecting sub 1000 gates, then clubs like ourselves shouldn't even be contemplating the idea of getting near the 1000 mark. Fingers crossed its a 3-figure gate.
Don't worry, Plymouth smashed the 2000 mark #properfans

Anyway, the attendances should be taken as relative, what is 1000? 1% of your regular attendance? impressive.

I'm glad these invited academies used the opportunity to bed in their youngsters against tough lower league opposition last night

Want to prove it?

Admin, help me out.

For all these posters intent on labelling me an attendance geek, can we not just see some stats on how many these users have posted in said thread also?

So when there's 5+ users posting 5x more dross than me in said thread, we can then look at handing over such prestigious title.

I'm just genuinely intrigued to know, that's all.

It's become that tedious, I've thought about hanging up the blasted keyboard.
