Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
That could be true.

Did an equality course Las year and Carlisle was something like 97% white British.

Cumbria is same and its from the polls in the top 10 pro leave areas.

Cumbria isn't racist, but as you say hasn't dealt with this influx before (well apart from Scots)

But an answer to easing fears is not this 'well your racist' approach given at moment needs some give on both sides.

Definitely agree that this isn't the right apporach. I think, on the left especially, there has been a growing almost sneeting nature at concerns raised by working class people and a 'ee know what's best for you' approach and never actually talking to these people and actually crediting them with the fact that they have a brain and should be treated as such.

Which bits of the "working class" are you talking about ? I find it kinda ignorant to think that a mass of people all have the same view of immigration. Is it sneering to challenge the politics of fear? Engaging with people isn't the same as agreeing with everybody. I think that it's interesting that whenever discourse around immigration is raised it's always about the "problems " of immigration which already frames the debate in a negative way.
I'm not sure the Left really are quick to point fingers and scream racism at every opportunity but it is important that untruths are challenged and outright bigotry opposed.

Record turnout on the cards?

My local polling station suggests so.

Real racism and bigotry should absolutly be opposed at every turn. I just don't think that the people of places like Yarmouth and Clacton are automatically racist for having concerns with immigration like many people seem to think. I just think they are misinformed and I think there is a way to make people realise this but that this is rarely the way the immigration debate goes.

The banks quite clearly think that this is all but over and remain are on the verge of a win. They could be wrong but it's encouraging.

The crying wolf with regards to racism and xenophobia will surely backfire in the end. It'll become a meme if it continues to be overused.

Don't forget to take your own pen because MI5 will rub out your pencil mark or something like that.

The USA spent millions of dollars developing a space pen to rig an referendum, the UK simply used pencils. #usespacepens

I agree with all points about polish workers being hard workers and good people.

Still for me doesn't change my view that the only reason we are here right now today is too many came over in a short space of time (all perfectly legally) and that has ended up pushing nearly half the population into the hands of the likes of ukip.

I don't want to say that, its wrong to say it, but the rise in ukip occurred at same time.

IF remain happens tomorrow the EU not the UK needs to reflect on these things if it wishes to keep together, freedom of movement to work is good, but we may have to introduce yearly limits to fend off further rises in worry, it is not just the uk which has grown these fears
I worked with Polish workers in Clarks shoe Warehouse in Street Somerset and they were the laziest people i have ever worked with. The bosses were scare of telling them off in case they claimed racism so the rest of us did their work as well as our own.

If leave win what pressure will there be on Cameron regarding his future - if any at all?

Suppose Boris and Nigel Farage will just carry on as usual even in defeat probably asking for another vote?

If we leave I think Cameron will resign within a few months, think it'll make his position untenable.

Boris' future plans for PM will be in tatters in we remain. If we leave, Cameron will definitely be in a sticky situation.

Only fucking liberal middle class wankers attack ordinary people for believing misinformation. The problem is that parties like UKIP and other far-right movements exploit these areas for political gain and we are honour-bound to challenge those groups at every turn, which means that the ensuing ideological battle becomes messy and scattershot.

Who are they then? Check the figures regarding immigrant tax contributions and employment status.

You seem well informed Aber. Anyway, the population of England has risen by 8% in just 5 years, and I personally don't think we can cope with a massive influx.

And what you mean by that is, you personally can't cope with an influx of any immigrants, because you don't like them.

We got a message on facebook to say someone had rubbed out all our votes at our local polling station so we had to return and were all provided with sharpies. I bet this is happening everywhere but I bet it's not being picked up on. Sickening.

Bet the same has happened at mine. Had to drop my slip over to a bloke with a rubber, fortunately I used a big pink glittery gel pen, so FUCK EM.

Take your crayons next time you mongoloid.

Aaaaaaand, you're a c***.
