regulatory alignment :animatedf:

that's it folks brexit is cancelled - Scotland will quite rightly demand the same. As should Wales. City of London etc.

we've actually gone through all of this for a 'regulatory alignment' - what a waste of bloody time. the only good to come from this is it's destroyed the Tories.

Imagine captain scumbag today :bg1:

Not sure it’s destroyed the Tories. You’d imagine Corbyn should be way ahead of May in the polls after the bollocks they’ve made of it - but not so. Contrary to what you think I don’t vote Tory but me and a host of others just can’t vote Labour with Corbyn/McDonnell running things - they’ll destroy the country for sure.

Where do people like me go?

you asked where you should go - your views tally with a party that would see your removal - reality is a prick not me.

You’re a strange fucker, that’s for sure. First I’m a fake, now I’m an immigrant about to get removed!

Is there something weird in the water down your way? And I thought the Welsh Windbag moniker disappeared when Kinnock left the stage.

lol how can you destroy a country that is already a complete and utter fucking shambles?

Anyway another very good, totally non-embarrassing day for Brexit.

Survation has us 8 points clear and internal Tory polling has us 12 points clear. The weighting in a lot of polls is incorrect. Labour now leads in most demographics if you look beyond the headline polls.
Also, if an election is called Corbyn will be doing the thing he’s best at- campaigning with fairer media coverage especially television. I think you’re forgetting that a lot of polls had the Tories double figures ahead right up to the last election, 6 weeks of the Labour campaign machine and the Tories are gone.
We need radical investment in this country, austerity is and always was an ideological policy and it’s legacy is both cruel and detrimental to the economy. If you don’t hate this country then vote for Labour despite any reservations you might have about Jez or Big John. This country is falling sharply into decline and needs a new politics and economics to survive.

But, for me, that’s the problem. Labour aren’t offering new politics or economics. They are regurgitating their policies of the 70s. The failure of nationalisation, taxation rates that force companies to relocate leaving the only way to raise revenue is to up the tax of working people.

Replacing a Tory shambles with a Labour wrecking ball is like trying to put out a fire using petrol.

you asked where people like you go. I can't think of many parties that agree with your views. the only parties that match them would see your removal - what's difficult about that?

What parties? Why do you I think I would get removed (whatever that means)?

Any chance of a clear, simple answer?

The rational thing to do would be to have no border in Ireland but between there and the rest of the U.K. But then we have an irrational coalition. This is the only logical solution, everyone knows it except the bloody DUP and some prick Tories.

this is painful. your bigoted views no longer correlate with ukip what with them creating an 'equalities' post and turning their back on the muzzy hater vote. that only leaves the proper wrong uns- you ain't no indigenous homeboy so you'd be sent back to origin. I don't make the rules.

It’s simplistic and incorrect to label Labour’s policies as anachronistic. What we’re talking about is radical structural change and a break from the neo- liberal concensus which has ultimately led us to where we are now. We can’t rely on the spoils of empire or imperialism any longer. Investment in new technologies, the overhaul of transport ( yes, that means nationalisation , that is the only way the balance between infrastructure investment and affordability can be found) coming automation and how we bring about the post work reality, housing and the cruel inequality that exists.
Currently we have a situation where a good portion of folk are spending half their salary on rent with no hope of future relief. This can’t go on, we’re losing generations.
I reckon if looked past your general dislike of Corbyn and weighed up the policies you’d come round. Give it a chance.

David Davis admitted that the government ( such as it is) has not compiled a single assessment on the impact of Brexit.
All perfectly normal, reasonable, not strange at all behaviour.

The government haven't done an impact assessment on Brexit because it isn't going to happen. Yay, well done everyone.

Oh my god????????

The sheer level of incompetence is actually staggering. No 58 sectoral impact assessments (Davis appears not only incompetent but outright dishonest), seemingly no communication with the DUP fruitcakes (who are meant to be propping this ailing government up) re the border, which seems like an almost insurmountable issue to me, personally. Surely, not even in many Leavers fevered Brexity dreams, can anyone believe we can exit with a proper, workable deal in place by March 2019. The prospect of us attempting to do this, after we've spent a year pissing around, establishing virtually nothing, is absolutely terrifying.

As a leave voter, I feel the citizen rights issue and the final bill can be agreed on but the UK seems to be bending more than the EU (the EU's line seems to be "you need to try harder" without actually wanting to compromise at all - in the end an outcome would be achieved as far as I can see).

But the Ireland issue seems to be a monumental fuck up which was pretty obvious as soon as the Tories went in with the DUP. It irritated me when they formed this alliance as it was obviously not going to be productive (the UK government needed to remain neutral on NI and therefore it fails there immediately).

The lack of plan at this stage is farcical, as is the lack of consensus among the Tories. I still believe a decent outcome could have been achieved with a decent government but the fact we have a minor partner dictating to a split government makes it a total joke. I don't regret voting leave as I believe it still to be the right decision. The issue is the clowns trying to run it, not the decision to leave. And yes, they are separate issues.

I'm open minded. The EU have stated openly that they don't want to punish the UK and they want a deal that works for both sides. Remainers believe the EU are genuine and I think we need to have faith in them too (otherwise you're just calling the EU liars which is pretty shite).

Aside from Ireland, my concern is that a weak government trying to appease everyone will just cave in to the EU's hard line of negotiation. I don't like Boris or Gove but I'm more inclined to just sack off the negotiations altogether (and then achieve a deal later when the EU realise they do need to give a bit too) than to accept a weak deal and be stuck with it forever. This was never about the "now" but about the long term, therefore the government shouldn't bow to pressure and strike a poor agreement just to meet the deadline.

I'd still like a transition agreement (of say 3 years) personally - it seems the rational and logical approach for both sides if they are both keen to get a deal in place. There's a lot of political posturing on both sides, which sadly is how a lot of politics in the world has become these days - pragmatism would be sensible, but there you go.
