That was always going to be an issue after selling the main source of your goals, you don't play the type of game which allows goals from numerous players on the pitch, or at least not regularly enough for it to be deemed a successful tactic. And despite starting off well, Rooney at his age and condition was never going to have the ability to be a leading goalscorer.

It's not just about that though, you have a lot of new players and they will need time to gel and adapt to what Koeman wants, we have been through a similar thing numerous times at Liverpool. Give it a month or two and there will be improvements.

To be fair your fixtures have been horrendous, getting City, Chelsea and Spurs back to back is going to be hard for any side.

Granted the stats aren't impressive but it's one game, when your fixtures clear up and you can have a run against easier opposition you'll likely begin to gel.

After a good summer of buys (selling Lukaku and not buying a suitable replacement aside) I didn't think for a minute they would be so utterly shit. I genuinely thought they'd be knocking on the door of 5th place. Calls for him to be sacked though are premature, he hasn't become a shit manager overnight.
