Carl Fletcher will be okay, they play us at home next week. If we manage our first away win since January he deserves to be sacked right there and then

I still don’t know what it’s like to be knocked out by part timers, so I can’t say I know how Orient fans feel, but I’d imagine pretty embarrassed.

Thought Orient were decent going forward when I saw them the other week, so surprised they got beaten by such a low team.

I’d take either maldon or Kingstonian in the second round, but would prefer Chichester. Just not a league team, otherwise we’re definitely out

I don’t think we’ve won a FA Cup replay since Lou Macari was manager in the 80s.

After only a few shocks yesterday, today is littered with them. Dover, Maldon & Tiptree, Wrexham drawing with Rochdale, Bromley drawing with Bristol Rovers. I would add Kingstonian, but against a L2 youth side, maybe not.

Todays result will rightly be a huge shock to some, but it isn't to our fans because since Carl Fletcher has come in he has absolutely ruined us. He has lost the fans already.

Huge rumours that all has not been well behind the scenes, with Fletcher picking fights with players and staff and destroying the team spirit built up these last 2 years. Also he his tactic of playing one up front is horrific to watch. His interviews are also appalling and horrific to watch.

As for the game, Maldon wanted it alot more than us, as soon as they scored they had something to hold onto and gave everything for the cause. We had a few moments and nearly snatched a draw at the death but it would've been undeserved.

Maldons two goals came on the break and they took them well.

3 weeks ago we beat Grimsby 4-0 and our players looked confident and gave everything, today was the polar opposite. You don't like to suggest such things, but in the back of your mind you think........."Are they trying to get him the sack?" because we were awful.

Well done to the Jammers, deserved winners and if it means Fletcher is sacked then even better.

Oh and Dovers winner was scored by Ruel Sotiriou who is on loan from ourselves - We have two strikers out injured and Fletcher decides to send him out on loan, the fucking braindead c***.

What length of contract did Fletcher get at Orient?

Only 18 months. A gamble gone wrong, he isn't turning this round. Our board have literally got to have a rethink because the longer they keep him the longer it just delays the inevitable.

I can remember how I felt when we were very close to being knocked out by Borehamwood, or when St Albans took the lead so I just try and extrapolate that as if the feeling lasted all year. We did get knocked out by torquay that time but they're ex league.

I’ve honestly never heard of that team Orient lost too, maybe it’s just I’m a northerner who only really knows northern local non league sides. What tier do they play at, Conference South or below?

The non league games I’ve watched on tv have been poor tbh, even Dover if Southend were competent they have won easily. Imo the gap between professional and part time has grown massively in recent years, most likely due to modern training methods and fitness of even league 2 teams.

The gap between National League and League 2 is pretty big now, so the best chance for non league clubs to cause an upset is either to draw basket cases or teams fresh out of non league like Orient, who are still not quite at football league standard yet.

They're 2 steps below the National League South/North level.

Agree with regards to the gap, even though we were shite today we still had chances to salvage a draw as their players were suffering from cramp and heavy legs in the last 15mins.

Up until 3 weeks ago, we was looking and playing like a standard mid table League two side.

But if you stay up, in a a year or 2's time you'll find that virtually none of your promotion winning squad will still be there or playing league football elsewhere. See Lincoln, Grimsby, Cheltenham, ourselves etc. The gap is getting bigger. A lot of good national league players can't handle the step up consistently over a season.

Without doubt, but up until 3 weeks ago we was fine and just needed an experienced head to help us stay up. It can't be helped if our board screw up the managerial appointment.

Fair enough. Seems you either got to back Fletcher or sack him then, either get rid of the staff he doesn't want or has fallen out with and let him bring in his own, or fuck him off. If it's true about all the fallings out etc then you can't carry on with this set up, coaching staff have got to be on the same page.

Wow didn’t know that. Can see why you want him sacked, that’s totally unacceptable for a professional team to lose to a team so far down. Can you keep him until after our game please!

The players should take some blame too though, tbf. Whether you like your gaffer or not, you should still put a shift in. This is the FA Cup. A team from that level will only beat you if they work a lot harder then you, whatever tactics you play.

Bit different but makes me think of when Cooper kept having the dressing room bust-ups and while a few were popular players who'd been good servants in the end we were better sticking with him than them, especially as did seem a few were just refusing to do as asked.

Yeah true. Suppose it's a case of judging how capable a manager is. If you trust him to get it right in the long run, it's worth there being a few casualties along the way if need be.

We managed as a league one outfit to lose to Chasetown who were at the time in the Midland Alliance or something, we battered them, Luke Rogers missed two penalties and they nicked it with their only chance in the 93rd minute. Was a horrible night and was there. Think it’s still the biggest gap between teams involved in a giant killing.

Never a nice feeling and Orient fans will remember it for years.

That said the boot has been on the other foot with Vale taking down a few PL teams and being within a penalty shoot out of changing Arsenal history by almost preventing the 98 double.

Rough with the smooth i guess.
