If I remember right they pick the 4th round tv games before the replays. It's what happened and it meant our game v Sunderland wasn't on TV a few years ago.

Home end tickets all sold out now - about 4.5k general sale tickets in just over 4 hours.

8000 home tickets sold approximately not bad considering we were struggling to get 2000 home fans a year ago.

Especially if Dover bring as many to us as they did to Macc yesterday:lol:
Wouldn't be surprised if we get through there might be a voucher scheme at the Dover game, go to the Dover game and guarantee a ticket for the Brighton game.

Gutted we're not on TV for the replay. However it looks as though we're in a very strong position for round 4.....

Tickets for the replay for Sutton fans go on sale on Sunday. I'll be shocked if we don't sell out

Unfortunately won't be a full house tonight because Ipswich haven't sold their allocation.

Pathetic that Ipswich can't sell their 1800 allocation. Do we think they'll even manage 1k when you deduct the Lincoln fans who have been sent the above email? Should have put them in the South Park end.

Best of luck Lincoln, all this success in the cup surely means you could leave the league until next year?

Thank you, I fully expect Ipswich to knock us out tonight, they cannot be as bad as at Portman Rd. The Cowleys are very good at what they do so I don't think a few extra extra matches will make that much difference, unless we continue on three fronts for much longer anyway.

You'll be relieved to hear Kieffer Moore is both cup-tied and registered too late :D Anyway, shall be cheering you on via the telly.

Why would they sell that many? It's hardly a big game for them.

Good luck anyway.

Good luck anyway.

Short-ish distance, relatively low cost compared to their normal fixtures, cup game against a team they very rarely play. They average just shy of 17k at home this season. There are a few reasons to think that they might.

Normally for these sort of things clubs get in contact with each other and estimate how many away fans will go. Ipswich themselves might have oversold their expectations to Lincoln.

Further to this in FA Cup games the away team is entitled to 15% allocation unless they decline the full allocation, or there are concerns over the safety in segregating the match should the home side give the full 15% to the away team. Given that Sincil Bank has a capacity of a little over 10,000 it's not hard to do the maths to figure out what 15% of that is...

Good luck of course to both Lincoln and Sutton tonight.

They only got 11000 home fans in for the first game though, a lot of Championship clubs don't care that much about the FA Cup anymore, it's all about getting to the Prem.

Midweek in January on the telly against a team a lot of their fans wont have heard of = unlikely to attract a massive away following.

No, it really, really isn't.

A massively shite tie, that we're likely to lose, which is on TV, on a Tuesday night, almost 3 hours away, plus given the state we're in right now. It's not pathetic my good friend, it's expected and understandable.

They only got 11000 home fans in for the first game though, a lot of Championship clubs don't care that much about the FA Cup anymore, it's all about getting to the Prem.

Midweek in January on the telly against a team a lot of their fans wont have heard of = unlikely to attract a massive away following.

I think you're being a little unfair (if not trolling) when claiming "a lot of their fans won't have heard of" Lincoln. It's a well known city with a traditionally football league club named after the city. Maybe a reasonable portion wouldn't have been able to tell you what division they were in.

It's also worth remembering the home tie is fairly unattractive, an all pay fixture at their normal prices (I presume without checking), against an unfashionable side that they are expected to beat. I think a lot of Ipswich fans were potentially staying away for this one to go in the 4th round if they got a home draw... That said it is a good benchmark to use for those that would be interested in the away tie of course.

I also think you're a little unfair saying for Championship clubs that they don't care about the FA Cup and that it's all about getting to the prem. It's worth remembering that only 3 teams go up. Realistically how many clubs are in the hunt for a playoff place or better by the time the 3rd round stage of the season comes about? Maybe half, if that? (again no research in to it, more intuitive from memory, thinking about average seasons as opposed to this in particular.). That gives you a good number of clubs who will care. While you do have the relegation battlers, for whom it can be a distraction, it can also be a good money spinner to fund transfers/loans/desperation buys to stay up.

Ipswich appear this year to be the archetypal club where their season in the league is largely over - 10 points from danger at the bottom, 11 from the playoffs, a whole host of clubs in between for both. If not the cups then what are their fans going to get interested in this season?

I wouldn't got so far as to call it a disgrace that Ipswich didn't/couldn't sell out their allocation, but it isn't a great sign. The point about it being on TV is sadly true.

Listen mate, Mick really doesn't give a fuck about the FA Cup. You may (or may not) put yourself through witnessing that tonight; some of us having been doing so for the last four years. To put this to bed though; Ipswich management don't give a flying fuck about the FA Cup- and without question it filters it's way through to the fans, we aren't going to travel 6 hours round to see a largely reserve side either get beaten or somehow stumble over the line by Lincoln City.

Add the above to my previous comments of; "A massively shite tie," "we're likely to lose," "is on TV," "on a Tuesday night," "plus given the state we're in right now." and you're probably getting close to understanding how little this means to any ITFC fan, and that's because of the club and the way it's being operated today.

Well with the general apathy and disdain shown for the competition by your fans and management you don't deserve to progress so I'm hoping we get through. I think I'll be disappointed though.

A largely reserve side? It wasn't that weak a side in the first game and MM said he expects your captain and Skuse is it to be back tonight. FWIW I think Ipswich will win, but it's going to be a blast and some atmosphere.

But if you do go you'll be able to buy yourself a Lincoln/Ipswich half and half scarf, that will make the trip worthwhile surely?

Is this an attitude the fans are largely on board with or largely dissenting of? Do you/most ITFC fans wish they took the cup more seriously?

Bringing team selection into or not, it's no secret that Mick has no time for the Cup and that proves itself over the past 4 years with horror shows, weakened sides & piss poor results against lesser sides.

I do think in all seriousness that with Lawrence saving us at our place that we'll just about turn you over tonight, you probably had your shot at us, but this will only serve to save the very little of what is left of our face.

For what it's worth, I'm not knocking the Cup magic of it for the lower league/non league sides, you've got yourself a replay at home on a Tuesday night in front of the cameras. Obviously it's going to be a cracking night for you and a great atmosphere, I just think it's naive to think Ipswich fans will be on anything like the same level, especially given the importance (or lack of) of the competition, and the trainwreck that is our league performance right now (despite early signs of improv.)

We were away at Gateshead but I'm assuming they'll be something tonight before the game and again in minutes 75 an 76 (1975/76 season being our record breaking one under him).

Not sure TV will pick up the pre-match stuff, though (if there is any other than the applause). Coverage starts and we kick off pretty much straight away.

Mentioned this elsewhere, but ironically enough, the last time we made the fourth round of the FA Cup was under Taylor.
